Good thoughts! The flowers I'll probably end up keeping. The original tiles had grass growing up through the thatched roof, and Caladium thought it'd be cuter if it was flowers instead. But the bush thing, maybe you're right... My thinking was that it was growing pressed up against the wall, but since it matches the "full" one perfectly, it really doesn't come across like that...

And thanks! Warm is definitely what I was going for.

Taking a break from R3P to make an epilogue scene for Ara Fell...

I'm really happy with the way this is turning out. I've been meaning to make this for almost a year, but nothing felt right, and I didn't want to just tack on an additional ending sequence just because it was requested.

[RM2K] Change Hero Walking GFX

As for why this would work on one map but not another, this has to be from some other event interfering with it. Could there be a common event running parallel, turned on by a switch on this map? Could there be a map event running parallel?

If you're certain the event is exactly the same on both maps, this is probably the only explanation.

D-pad support, volume control, and epilogue incoming!

My understanding is that Cherry modified RPG_RT.exe so that it detects the PoV hat (which is what the d-pad is set to by default). It's enabled by default, just by using our patched RPG_RT. So no, it doesn't do any keyboard remapping or anything like that.

Hero's Realm

I do like the idea of personal achievements, though I think some people on Steam will be pissy about them not counting on Steam. Ara Fell has going on 25,000 activations at this point, and I think I've only heard about people wanting achievements once, though.

Hero's Realm

As of right now, they can't be, unfortunately.

Sorry for the double post. I see the RMN servers are a little slow today...

Well, shadows are one thing and light effects are another. I want the interiors of every room (particularly large rooms) to be dark, but to get the brightness of the lights and panorama right, you really are stuck with darkening all the tiles and characters, and making all the light-sources bright by hand.

Shadows are the bad part, because they really have to be events, and I'm a stickler for visual consistency... I may be able to do it with pictures, but I wouldn't want every shadow to show above the hero.

Example of Rise of the Third Power's shadows and lighting "effects" (which is just erasing a mask around lights).

For this to look right, I'm stuck using events for all the shadows. As you can imagine, I'd very much like to kill myself at the moment. I'm pretty pissed that it came out looking as nice as it does, because now I really ought to follow through.

R3P is going on 1000 maps at this point. Shadowing them all is going to be rough...

[RM2K3] Item that changes sprite association

I'd just do this as a parallel process common event (with a wait 0.0 at the beginning to reduce lag) with a conditional to check if the switch is in or off. Change actor graphic to umbrella if on, regular if off. Is this not what you did?

If there are multiple unique states a character can be in, you'll need to make sure you turn off any other switches when a new one is turned on.
