"I'm a douche who created multiple alt accounts to hype my shitty games"

author=TungerManU
...Um, it's like everywhere? Front page for instance.
Thanks, sorry I don't go to the front page as often as you may think!

author=Liberty
It's also got a link in the top bar of the Community Page and at the top of the list on the Event page (you can get there by clicking on the Event header, or hovering over it and choosing Events from the drop-down menu.)
Duly noted, thanks!

Little Briar Rose

I can't wait to play this! If it is all in the stained glass style you'll have touched my heart. I've really liked the stained-glass look since watching the opening for Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Indie Game Making Competition Results are in!

People wouldn't listen to me when I said people's choice meant virtually nothing and they were wasting their time worrying about it, the judges picked games entirely different from people's choice, though the people's choice wasn't entirely misguided, played a bit of Ars Harmonia and from where I played to it was solid, wordy, but solid! It delved into some DARK concepts. I mean, a doctor who gets turned on by viscerated bodies is a... well it's a touchy subject to broach! I really want to get further. I owe it to Kate (she's one of the developers working on it, who also did VA for a trailer I made recently.)

I didn't play many of the others. Was half expecting Tear Drop Distance to be on here, but i think whether it be his smart mouth or the reputation he has, or just because his game was lacking in some areas mean ultimately there was better.

I'm gonna make a mental note to play the three winners, mostly because it'd be an excellent learning experience.

But yeah I wouldn't ever bother with that sorta shit to hype a game, besides which hyping a game isn't ideal, because then it has standards to live up to. Most of my games just come straight outta nowhere. Unless you work for me or stalk me on the couple of threads here where i show what i did or something I don't really aim to hype my games at all.
They don't come straight out of nowhere. All you ever talk about is your games everywhere I see you.
To be fair, he also talks about how awesome he is and how all his friends love him, too.
I am bag, next coming of douche!

Wow, I guess all I ever do is talk about my games and, myself I guess? Hah!

I was told there was a Halloween contest, I want to enter, but I can't find it because I haven't been here long not sure if it's on the forums (in which, no luck finding it) or what!

Someone mind throwing my dumb clueless ass a bone?

The Screenshot Topic Returns

@Itaju: That's really nice, however I am going to point out a few little flaws I found, for instance, in the top left corner on the verandah, the flowers on the railing have a really ugly pitch black outline (almost like you didn't make them transparent but meant to) and it horridly contradicts the rest of the image.

Also solid black outlines are used sparingly betwixt what is otherwise softly albeit well-contrasted color coded decor. Just some things to consider!

@Corfaises: Not sure if it is an error or on purpose, but the way the grass is blatantly overlaying the footpaths is trigger within me deep OCD no's.

Other than that, I advise (though this is personal preference) erasing the generated auto shadows with the tool provided.

Also, those bunnies are great. In fact the brown one mid-hop is one I edited for Tristy's sprite. Still looks nothing like a kangaroo, but meh!

It looks like they're battling in a Skittles commercial. Taste the rainbow!
Maybe they are?

We figured it out! (not rly tho!)

Anywho, apologies I had to expose all o' you to that. The main issue is the battleback, I've figured out a fairly decent workaround to fool most out of seeing the parity between the contradicting styles.

Borders. The clear distance between the great divide of a blue cyan border is enough it turns out! For facesets, the one in the screenshot above is use only in battles and on the menu, everywhere else is just the usual mspaint rigmarole.

This forum has been a really great source for feedback, and I promise you fellas my next games art will be coherent across the board! Not because, you twisted my arm. But because I want to do it, now! Menagerie is just too large to go whole hog with that sort of a renovation, but a new smaller project, oh yes, I can see that happening!

LockeZ, you're probably the closest person I consider to a friend on here, because your feedback has been valuable, and I love the way you are so blunt!

Being one who is pretty blunt himself, I appreciate it!

Anyway, here's a different thing entirely!

This cutscene gives me goosebumps, especially around 2:22 and beyond. Post-processing allows me to do a lot more to help with the epic pulse-pounding timeline feel.

The music is indeed, a Placeholder currently, my composer is leaving it till last, since it's gonna be one hell of a syncing track job.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

@LockeZ: Sorry for ignoring you, my heads all over the place!

That game looks ugh... bright! I mean, even for a guy like me that's luminescent! Also, I will now look into this halloween contest. I would like to win some contests, or laugh at myself when i fail trying!

I love contests!

Ahahaha, thanks Emmych, also I agree with Nurvuss, I can just see her handing out sass to people like all they've known for yours is bitter sass famine.

My composer has been going nuts with the soundtrack, 5 of the 8 sync tracks are now done. As for me? Well I've been reogranizing the troops and enemies in the database, making way for optional bosses, and duplicating blu prints, then renaming them simply so I know 'okay this optional boss is called such', Sorting everything into tiers has been a thoroughly fun... if laborious exercise. I've also begun on two different arcs for entering optional content.

Just to show you an unfinished glimpse...

Everything 61 upwards is going to be filled out. I have multiple new enemies types I'm also working on, some of which the art is done for...

In spoipers tho because words. :o

Abominations:

Upon death, most mortals will lose flesh once they enter the Necropolis, and become the Skeleto, or Skeletopians... as their body withers and dies, their organic matter is collected by Necromancers, and from ones unwanted trash comes a new even more unwanted treasure, Abominations, clumsy, dim-witted albeit burly fellows, who are at the frontline of the necropolis defense. They are easily manipulated, and act as more of a drone rather than their own being.

Praisers:

Typically minions conjured from Glass, some receive too much of their suns power, becoming either incredibly destructive or incredibly attached to their sun. The two known variants are a pink sun variety, which just love praising the sun. Then Heldath has a much more destructive variant, who want to have the suns attention to themselves.

Arcane Crucifix:

Themed after their respective afterlives, they are typically assigned as personal assistants for the higher ups, such as Esperia, Naxon, Esophagor, Malphael, Benediction et cetera.

Apparitions:

Mysterious spectres, possibly of a Gaseon origin... who speak no words and seem only to serve the purpose of automaton destruction.

Bizarre Monkey's Psychedelic Art-station

I did some pixel art today. First a really cool galaxion train.

Then some doors.

'tis a good October 1st for art.

Mostly MSpaint work, all from scratch. Only bit I cheated with a little was the glow on the Galaxion Passenger Convoy's eye headlights. Evidenced in spoilers.

Turn the layer on and...

The Screenshot Topic Returns

I apologize for any pain this may cause.

Just two optional tier 5 bosses.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Man, perfect time for you fellas to start showing your progress on pixel art, I myself recently did some!

I was inspired only a little (I swear!) by Oddworld when I did this. I also did some doors since the ones i had were too short for them Galaxion fellas.

Also Yuna, I love those clouds, the style reminds me of Xargon, which is a fond childhood memory.

@emmych: I can't wait until i get that good at animating pixel art! I can do it, but it is forced to look like shit. :3

Other than that, I've been updating Galaxia and opening it up as a world more. The Galaxion Passenger Convoy above will serve as a means of getting from one city to another in good time.

I also updated the appears of goos from flat-looking circles to cel-shaded characters.

It's great that you're enthusiastic about sharing your screens but don't you think three times on one page is a bit too much? Perhaps you should put this stuff up on your game page instead so that those subscribed to your game can see it.
I'm sorry. I haven't got around to making one for remastered yet. Usually I make a games profile page on it's release, I thought you had to have something playable ready, which thinking about it now, is probably silly. Just assumptions born from my frequency of other places.

I'll probably make that profile soon, for now though, here's a video, a similar thing to what I linked multiple pages ago, but with the games own music now.
