If they're around, I'd like to be refered to them. I see some RRR members here, so I'd also like to know how everyone else is doing.
I've seen nary a trace of ember5fire, (that may be wrong, guy with a bear avatar) darkling05 or the other fellas around since I left.

How do you make friends?
author=DudesoftUntil very recently, I was the same, and those online friends are still much closer than my friends in a local vicinity.
I've only made online friends, really, on irc or chat programs. Then again, Gaming World had a couple big get togethers that made me a few friends, and I've visited like a weirdo a couple people here. IRL < Online.
Not always an option, I guess.
My grandma acted like they didn't count-- which is farcical. I've had just as enjoyable experiences with friends oceans away from me than I have in real life with friends in my local vicinity.
It is admittedly... not quite the same as being there with them, but I still consider my online friends far closer despite our physical distance.
Trying too hard?
I share in your absurd near-unreachable standard for quality. And I'm still using RPG maker. I think that if you end up being happy with a project, it's quite likely others can be. So while yes, games are certainly not a thing which can be perfect, it's best if you're happy with them before you release them! That's what a tech demo is for!
As developers, our only limits beyond the engine we use is our endurance, and our faith in our abilities.
My games Perseverance and Menagerie have both made people assume they aren't even in RPG maker because the combat is fluid or they break so many of the limitations. I really push the engine to it's limits.
author=Red_NovaThat barrier is a farcical one. If you're using game maker you're already unlimited by silly people like me who make shit in RPG Maker, while still managing to churn out professional level games. Making GOOD games is something anyone with the ideal mindset for a genre can do!
It does seem stupid that some of us think we can emulate those big budget titles. But then I look around on RMN and see titles like Enelysion and think, "Well, if SHE can do it, why not me?"
author=Red_NovaJust to further cement this example, my current WIP game Menagerie: Remastered has been in the works for almost a year, and it's release took two years. Making good games does take time, but it's worth it, I promise!

I'm encouraged by my own past experience to take sides with Liberty on this one, rips show a lack of creativity and love in what you do, as well as the fact that they go against the grain of law. I myself don't believe the law is really effective, mostly because in the U.S it's 200 years out of date and does not comprehend the capabilities of the internet.
My goal as a developer before I charge for anything! Is to make my games entirely dependent of the company I run (alike Perseverance) rather than borrowing from outside sources or worse yet, ripping from other games.

Mostly I just annoy and alienate people over time. Plus I hate having expectations and responsibility thrust upon me, and friendship is rife with that. What a hassle.
My friends don't expect anything of me, because I've given them the impression I'm a silly jerky shake from day one. For them it's like this honor to be in my presence and I don't even know what makes me so irresistable to these deranged people but they're awesome to speak to so who cares.

Also yeah, if there's any motivation to get an adblocker it's to cancel out youtube ads, also it makes sites like ad.fly that people get a knot in their pants about, absolutely painless.
Well, I'm not a newb and I'm not NOT using one out of stubbornness.Then I guess that makes you lazy or stupid? Stop defying your lord and master; Adblock+!
(By the way I don't seriously think your stupid stubborn or silly not to use an adblocker, but it solves so many evils that it's worth the little bit of hassle to install I promise!)
