Due to situations beyond his control, Ben has more idle time than he should have! "Hands" are the devil's playground and as such Ben is often drawing or diddling around in RPG-maker VX Ace to give his life a semblance of actual meaning.
A social introvert, Ben is NOT a social butterfly! However, he still desires to create forms of expression which incite genuine emotions, raucous laughter, and occasional deep thoughts. (Though often enough he misses that mark and ends up offending everyone instead!)

Yes, that was what I got in both cases.
If it says "Encrypted Black Edition" it's the latest version! Glad you seem to be able to get to it.

I just tried to start downloading using the "Download Now" button as well as the old "Download" button from the "Downloads" page.
I thought there was only the "download now" button. Are you saying a summary page actually has two default download sources? If so, I only see the gray "Download now button" from my end.
However if it conveinces people I'll keep up the link I gave shun and add it to the summary page if they are having troubles like me.
The version you want is "Gutterdelve Encrypted Black edition" and it should be the only one on gaming front.
Plans for the near future as well as the here and now!

That's quite a long demo, I'd say. It would be a shame to force people to replay all that, unless you make significant changes to the game that affect the part the demo covers. Hopefully, somebody can give you better guidance about the save compatibility issue ...
It is. lol. I probably should have just cut it off at the end of the hospital level. Yet I was in conflict on account I did not want to short change anyone either.
My measurement of time isn't the best though. It would probably only clock in at 4 or more hours if you grinded a bit. My guess is most people can get though it in 2 or 3.

It isn't bad etiquette to upload it elsewhere. Developers have their own reasons for that. One of the issues with uploading to RMN is that if somebody tries to download and it fails for some reason, they have to wait 1 hour before trying again. To mention, Mediafire seems to be the most common off-site option for developers to host their uploads.
There is the "Link to Dropbox" option as well which I'm not clear how it works (from both viewpoints, the uploader's and downloader's) since I haven't used it yet. Perhaps someone else could explain how this option works.
Regarding your link issue, I would say there's only one way to find out. In theory, it should work ...
It's odd. I now have 29 downloaders implying people can still access it yet when I click on it I get the error message. It could have something to do with my personal settings.
Craziness I tell you,craziness!

If I may ask, roughly how long is the current demo in terms of playtime?
Sorry I'm getting to you late, mate. It's about 4 hours roughly I believe. Perhaps 3 if you're really good at finding things early? The characters do tend to level up rather quickly.

To clarify, I uploaded my game at gaming front due to technical problems when trying to upload it here.(Perhaps my pc just sucks?) For the first 28 or so downloads everything worked great.
However, Shun notified me of an issue and when I clicked on "download" again it would not take me to the download on gaming front and instead said. "Oops, there's a problem. Chances are we know about it & we're working on it!"
First of all, is it considered "bad form" to upload a game somewhere else? If it is, why is the url option offered to begin with?
Secondly, if it is a technical hiccup would deleting then reposting the same url remedy the situation?
I apologize for being annoying but as a noob I'm still learning the ropes!

There is another link to download this is kinda suspect does not match the file size of the demo.
The demo in question should be 355.72 MB. Big for a demo I know, but there is a lot of content. Actually it's safe to say the demo is more like a bit over half the game.
However, something does seem suspect. When I clicked on "download" I got an "Oops something is amiss and we're working on it!" message.
Guess it's time I checked up on my download at gaming front to make sure all is well.
Does "this link" take you there? If not it's difficult to fathom exactly what is going on.

I've had game updates where backwards compatibility concerning saves was finicky, at best. Minimally, the save file had to happen before a chapter close (the "old" code "saw" a "Go To Tile Screen" command, and the "new" code somehow isn't "seen". If that makes any sense!), but other things could mess it up. Such as changing what switches enabled what events, or like change.
Wow, you're right. It does sound "finicky". That's too bad. I feel kind of bad letting people get so far only for them to have to start at the beginning again once the other three areas are finally added.
Oh well. Guess it's a learning experience!

I don't know how to make saves backwards compatible, but I hear it is a pain in the butt.
That's too bad,Clae. I was hoping it was as simple as dropping a save file from the old exe. bundle into the new exe. bundle.
I hate to force people to lose their progress with the final update. But if there's nothing I can do there's nothing I can do. Curses!
Guess I just have to hope the game is fun enough to play through twice. "Hope" being the key word. lol.

Maybe you should consider getting rid of the "the" before both "pain" and "profane".
Of course, it's proper regardless and "Bringing pain to the unworthy and the profane" would work as well I would think. As it is now though, it's a little awkward.
You have a point there. Only 1 "the" is really needed!
