BROKENH'S PROFILE

Due to situations beyond his control, Ben has more idle time than he should have! "Hands" are the devil's playground and as such Ben is often drawing or diddling around in RPG-maker VX Ace to give his life a semblance of actual meaning.

A social introvert, Ben is NOT a social butterfly! However, he still desires to create forms of expression which incite genuine emotions, raucous laughter, and occasional deep thoughts. (Though often enough he misses that mark and ends up offending everyone instead!)

More ways to download game? I hope.

I can confirm that your download links lead to where you expected them to.

Thanks! I appreciate it! That's definitely a load off my mind.

Gutter-Delve: The Closet Cases

The "download now" button now links to the zip version of my game within my drop box. I hope that alternative method helps!

You could get a dropbox account and host it there. That way you just add their account to that folder and they can download over time if they want. ;p

All they need to do is get an account, accept your invitation to the folder and let it download in the background while doing other stuff. Any edits you make to that folder will result in an instant update when they're online, so they'll always have the newest copy. ^.~

And you get 2GB free on sign-up, so unless your game is super huge it's not an issue of size~

EDIT: It's also just a case of editing whatever is in your dropbox folder (yes, just like a normal computer folder but anything put in there is shared with whoever has access to your folder) and connecting to the internet to upload. Easy as pie.

Also, you can download from RMN to your DB folder too, if there's issues downloading from the site. XP

My game is more than 2 GB so drop box ain't an option I'm afraid.

You could host it on RMN. It's not over 450 MB, it'll fit fine...

When I tried uploading my game directly from my pc to RMN it simply said "connecting" and would not give me any progress data at all. Aka, no uploading bar or anything else. After many failed attempts I uploaded it on game front. My pc might be brain-damaged or maybe my connection is simply "okay" but not "great".

author=edchuy
Well, I do have issues due to my internet. I almost never have problem with downloading from RMN directly. And yeah, as LockeZ was saying, you can pause download if needed. From almost every else, it can be a bit of a tossup, especially when my bandwidth is throttled as it is now. It doesn't matter what browser I'm using.

Wish I could be accommodating to everyone but until I find a way to upload my game here my options are limited as well. Hopefully that doesn't translate as "Oh,you're just being a lazy prick,Broken!" lol.

The build-in download pause buttons for browsers tend to not work with file-storage sites, because as soon as you pause it, the site sees that your connection broke and closes the link to the file and won't let you open it back up. You have to get the download manager for that particular site. If you just pause the download on your own, it loses it.

Uploaded.net is the worst about this, if you have slow wifi and it has to make two attempts to connect, it'll count that as a download attempt and lock you out of the site for three hours. Or if your laptop goes into sleep mode or if the download is going slow enough that it goes a few seconds without receiving information, it'll do the same thing.

Luckily, I don't think game front is like that. I can pretty much go there and download stuff anytime I want.

Then again, I don't have to suffer slow wi-fi so maybe this is a matter of privilege.

I could simply burn my game onto a cd and send it to certain people via mail but that endeavor would actually end up costing me money. (Because I'd want the cd itself to be safe & secure so I'd pay for good packaging. That and I'd have to pay more if a certain person lived far away.)

There's also the possibility that your friend's internet is flaky. A browser might consider a download complete if it doesn't receive data in a reasonable amount of time. You find out that there's a problem once you try to install or unzip it.

I thought about that too. My internet connection isn't the greatest but I can at least easily download stuff most of the time. (Aka, my apps know the difference between complete & incomplete + my connection is rather steady.)

Try using Google Chrome instead on Internet Explorer to download
something. I had a problem with Explorer once for something
that was related to RPG Maker.

I can download just fine. It's my friend having the issue. I actually use google chrome so we think along the same lines!

author=Liberty
If need be - say, if he has a bad internet connection - you can look through Mozilla or Chrome apps to find a download manager that will pause the download if the connection breaks and unpause when it connects again. That way the download won't be interrupted and restarted each time the connection disappears.

It might be part of the issue?

Maybe. Though I get the feeling the way he tried downloading it was a bit "odd" in the first place. Then again,what do I know? I'm the one here asking the questions. I would highly suggest Chrome to him though! That's my app of choice for downloading stuff.

Even smart people have been known to make stupid mistakes on occasion. Some of those mistakes have led to children and loveless marriages. Hell, some smart people want large families too. Matters of the heart are always complicated and more often than not override the brain.

;p

Hopefully your friend will work it out, though.

Indeed. Having a high IQ score doesn't always save us from self inflicted stupidity. lol.

As for matters of the heart, I don't know jack. I've hurt others and have gotten hurt myself. All I know for sure is I'm a straight kinky male and I don't want offspring due to the phobia I just might be a terrible parent. (Though I generally get along very well with the kids of my friends. Go figure!)

Concerning shun,I'll try to work on some sort of solution in the future though at this point I'm stumped.

I know for sure: every single man, woman and child who lives is dumb sometimes. And the dead ones used to be dumb.

I have no substantial proof to argue that point.(I'm an obnoxious prick with no foresight often enough!) I'm also pretty misanthropic towards humanity in general. As a collective our species is rather parasitic,self indulgent,and self destructive. That and dumb people often breed more than smart people. (Aka,smart people weigh the consequences of having sex but dumb people simply shag and don't give a damn.)

However, there are good & intelligent people out there. Just not as many as I would like there to be!

The demo is kinda big. Perhaps better to wait for full version?

author=bulmabriefs144
Make a common event called Demo End, and drop it in a spot where you want the demo to stop. Voila, instant demo end.

That's pretty much what happens when the police station is finished. Aka, you're taken back to the title screen.

I'm just wondering if I gave people too much in the demo. This is my first game so I admit I'm not the wisest on such matters. lol.
