RPG Maker 2000 VALUE! Font Problems

I assume you are talking about the editor, not the engine, because you said it's fine ingame (= at the game engine).

You can't change the font in the editor easily. However, you can use RPG Maker 2009 Ultimate (an RM2k(3) editor extension), you can set the font there as you like.

Oh, make sure you have the right rpg_rt.exe (a VALUE! one) in your game, otherwise MP3s won't work. It should be greater than 720 KB. You can change the game's fonts using the Font Changer or Hyper Patcher 2.

rm2k3 mp checking skill, how do I?

Well, the reason is:

Battle events are checked before the user's action is executed, as well as after that. However, the start conditions are only evaluated once each time.

So after the user selected the skill, your battle event is executed. However, no MP have been used yet! You now set a switch. Since start conditions are only evaluated once each time, the switch-triggered battle event will not be executed instantly. Instead, it is executed the next time battle events are checked - which is after the MP have been used!

Best regards,
Cherry

EDIT: Oh, two posts before I finished this one Oo

Possible to make a rpg maker game online?

For RM2k(3):
Well, yes, with Destiny Patch it's possible (or with Power Patch or CGSS, if you write a library/plug-in for it by yourself).

However, it's far less easy than you probably imagine. You just get functions to send some data over the network. What you do with that data, how you interpret it, etc., is up to you.

For RMXP/VX:
I believe there are some online scripts out there. However, that's not my area :)

Pixel Movement in RPG Maker 2003?

Just a theory: Charset tricks. Using the CharExpand-Patch (for 2k only), you can use bigger charsets. So you can create 256 different charsets for the hero (you could write a quick script to create those), where the hero is in all possible positions within a tile. Then put the real hero somewhere invisible and create a hero event with the new charsets. Then manage the graphics at the movements by yourself. Problem: Camera.

[rm2k3] Strange item bug

author=calunio
I fixed it by adding a switch event.

But it's still a bug. The code was exactly like this before, but I didn't activate a switch, and instead of having the second page called by the switch, it was called by the item posessed.

You misunderstood me. You should just put a "Change Switch" after the "Enter Shop". It doesn't matter what switch you turn on/off there. It will just cause the event pages to re-check their conditions.

You can then still use an item condition.

Using a custom font in Rm2k3

Oops, didn't see the link, sorry ^^

(But you didn't post AutoFontInstall^^)

[rm2k3] Strange item bug

That's probably a real bug (I assume, the UpdateEvent procudure isn't called after leaving the shop).

You might be ablte to circumvent it by setting any switch after leaving the shop, as switch operations do trigger UpdateEvent.

Using a custom font in Rm2k3

3. The font has to reside in your (or the player's) Windows\Fonts directory.

You can also use the tool AutoFontInstall. This way, the player doesn't need to put the font into the fonts directory.
