Atlus and reasons why they are great
Shin Megami Tensei 3 and Digital Devil Saga 1 were, like, one of the best games I've ever played, but many other games in the franchise seem really dumb and not my cup of tea.
Persona 1 and 2/2,5 - great concept, BORING gameplay and a really botched up demon talk system/persona gain system (they make grinding 3 times more painful).
Persona 3 and 4 - haven't even bothered with these two, because when I hear anything about JAPANESE SCHOOLS I get shivers (couple it with a sim and you get...). Plus the OSTs are awful, save for a few tracks.
SMT 1/2/IF - great story and graphics, but gameplay is way below today's standards. Endless fighting and, rarely, a story progressing cutscene. Demon/item management reminiscent of first Dragon Quests... don't bother unless with codes.
Devil Summoner games - never played, but the new one (someone versus the Soulless Army) sounds REALLY stupid.
Untranslated MT games - I dunno, they're untranslated. Majin Tensei 1/2 seems good (a turn-based strategy game just like Tactics Ogre but with demons (duh)).
All those kiddified spin-offs - they're basically a poor-man's SMT, so don't bother. Some of the translations are garbage, almost on par with Persona 1.
Oh, and the SMT anime sucks (the old one, Tokyo Destruction or something; haven't seen the new Persona anime).
Overall Atlus's MT franchise is VERY hit and miss. On one hand you've got such masterpieces as SMT 3 and DDS1 (although don't get me started on the sequel...), and on the other a two dozen of really mediocre titles with substandard gameplay.
They have to be commended for one thing, however, and that is they never fear experimenting with new gameplay systems and storylines/settings. Their stories are also darker and with a bit more realistic characters than the usual jRPG crap like the Tales games :X

Retro Game Challenge: The Best Thing Ever
Retro Game Challenge: The Best Thing Ever
Haha, this game's awesome! :D
I beat the first two games in the first sitting... a Space Invaders/Galaga clone and a cool platformer. Both were VERY enjoyable. I now unlocked a top-down racing game. The game really brings the atmosphere of playing those NES games when you were a kid.
Plus the manuals for each game and the magazines you collect are also great (funny commentaries, two-sentence reviews, cheats! and more...).
They even added some flavor by putting some Engrish in each game and manual. Totally rad!
But I'd only recommend this game for players who had a chance to play on the NES or old computers such as Commodore in the eighties or the first half of the nineties. These games are VERY retro.

RMNcast: Episode 7
Only listened to it yesterday.
Very cool episode.
Anyway, one thing I'd like you to work on are the differences in the the sound volume between the hosts. Couln't you edit it after the show's recorded? Because right now Brandon speaks too loud, and McDohl not loud enough and I had problems hearing some of his parts (listened to the cast on a bus, so there was some outside noise). Unless that's too much of a hassle, then forget it :)

Solstice - 2005 DBS contest demo
Like I said in the game entry on the main RMN page, I'm working on a short game (30 min -1 h) which is basically what Neophyte said - a game with around 10 "boss" battles and a modded DBS, though MUCH simpler than in Solstice. But the battles play pretty much the same - more like puzzles than real jRPG battles. Should be finished this summer.

Only one judge (Clest) turned his scores in and it resulted in a tie between Max's Eldritch and my game. BTW, Magi also participated with his Balmung Chronicle battle demo.

Go to the sound test, choose the entry you wish to record and don't push any key for now.
Go to the Sound tab, and find the Log Sound to Wav option (should be at the bottom of the list).
Click it, and then immediately press whatever key you mapped as an accept button to play the sound in the sound test.
Once it's over, click the Log Sound to Wav option once again to stop recording (the game should immediately pause upon clicking the Sound tab, so don't worry about any additional silence in your wav).
You will find your wav file in Winkawaks's main folder. Rename it and repeat the process for another sound.
Of course you don't have to be so precise when recording, you can use a wav editor to cut out the silence afterwards, but it saves time.
