Solstice (2005 DBS Code-off Demo)
Well, there's like a one in a million chance I'd do one. I mean, I'd love to, but there's no way am I gonna do an RPG in which I'd be responsible for: story, scripting, mapping and graphics (obviously). Too much work for one (lazy) guy.
I have one short game planned for summer, though, also with a very original take on the DBS. But it's gonna be very, very short (30 mins - 1h maximum).

Solstice - 2005 DBS contest demo
I ripped most of the sounds from the Darkstalkers series of games for CPS-2 using WinKawaks. It's fun to fiddle with the sound test and record some cool wavs. There should be an in-built sound test in most of Capcom's games (press F11 during game), not to mention the dedicated option in Kawaks to record sound.
I recommend doing it if you have some spare time, there are tons of games for the system (check out the D&D games - dozens of spell SFX) and you will have wavs for your game no one else probably has! :)

Thanks, man :)
I'm also pretty happy with this little experiment, although now I consider it to be a bit over the top :P

Retro Game Challenge: The Best Thing Ever
Yep, knew about this, but didn't want to play it in Japanese.
Glad to hear it's coming out in the States.

Use Eider's Beyond Logic after Rook casts Devil's Melody to nullify it.
If Serine has learned Primum Mobile, you will also reflect the spell and stop Rook for a turn or two.

Solstice - 2005 DBS contest demo
Some of you guys should be familiar with this one. This is my entry for Carius's Code Off from way back. Nothing's changed, but I don't know of any site where it's still available (apart from one Polish RM site), so I've decided to submit it to RMN.
The following info's been copied from the game page on RMN:

This is a short game (more like a demo) I made for the 2005 DBS contest at GW.
It's basically one long fight divided into 4 segments, with a total of 7 enemies to defeat.
Solstice was not made to be super playable, but more to showcase all kinds of possible DBS modifications. The games is chock full of scripts and unconventional skills. It is also very hard the first few plays, but once you discover the tactics needed to overcome your enemies it's very easy to beat. That was actually one of the main ideas behind the game.
IMPORTANT!
The game's not without bugs, unfortunately. The first version was finished about a day before deadline, and so there wasn't much betatesting. Some bugs are also related to the engine itself - at times the DBS is very random, and some skills may or may not work based on which option the DBS fancies at the time.
They shouldn't be crippling, though, and you can finish the game without encountering any. It's simply that some more advanced skills may not do what they're supposed to, and instead opt to do nothing.

I'm not expecting any feedback or comments, since this is so short and old, but it might be worth your while if you're into DBS modding or something.
If you have problems with beating the game, PM me or ask in the topic and I'll whip up a "walkthrough" :P

Final Fantasy IV DS Edition
Have you beaten the game or are you just making assumptions?
Anyway, why spend time grinding when you can just cast the spells I listed? Unless turning your brain off during gaming and mashing buttons mindlessly is your definition of entertainment...

You must use slow on each and every boss, otherwise they're virtually undefeatable.
Protect/Shell/Haste on party is also mandatory.

I actually noticed the fine print at the bottom after I had sent my post, but I couldn't be bothered to edit it :)

One thing that turns me off is the protagonist's name...
Tryscal? Seriously, TRYSCAL?
And a few lines below you have a guy named Bruce and another one named Gabriel. Two normal (and actually cool) names and one which sounds like you threw a bunch of letters into a hat and then randomly pulled them out and formed a word.
One more thing that bugs me is the title screen, which is really lame; it suits a game made in RM2K SEVEN YEARS AGO, but nowadays the standards for title screens are a bit higher, thankfully. If you can't make a better one yourself, then find someone to do it for you, it shouldn't be hard (post a request here or on any other RM board).
But apart from these two things the rest sounds fun, so I'll be looking forward to your little project. I'll refrain from downloading your old demo, since you say it's not representative of the new version.
PS Topic name is a bit pretentious.
