Has anyone played around with using Name Input screen events in combat?

I was trying to make an event that would let you type something in during combat, and realized you can't actually call that screen during battle (at least every time I tried it would just skip over the event.)

Anyone have an idea/or have a snippet that would help me accomplish such a thing?

I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that the scene it's being called in can't be called during battle? I'm playing around with a few things but figured I would ask ;^^

Man, this year is really crazy in terms of releases.

I hope Soma Union, Beetle Ninja, Shooty and the Catfish, and Weird and Unfortunate score big. They really were great experiences.

I need to touch on a couple more before the year ends too... can’t wait to see how everyone does.

I just remembered Inazuma Eleven. It’s a literal Soccer/football RPG

Even though nobody is asking for it, has ever asked for it, or will ever ask for it, I really want to make a basketball jRPG.

I don't know of too many LPers who do -just- RPG Maker and those who do tend to stick to horror/walkabouts. But here's a couple that I know of:

GSDBoxer: Covers RPG Maker games regularly, including Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass, Grimm's Hollow, Shooty and the Cat Fish and a few others.

Driftwood Gaming: Doesn't do full playthroughs as far as I've seen but does a lot of "First Impression" videos for RM games.

GSD is actually one of my favorites... he does a great job...
