Final Fantasy III, no, not the one with Kefka (Cefca)

I'm playing it now on the side while I play through Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and I'm enjoying the difficulty level, especially once you get used to specialising into jobs for specific situations. It's an easy game to go wrong with though, especially if you've never had to play a game with traditional toughness levels intact (thing Dragon Quest style!)

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Firstly, this game is absolutely WONDERFUL on the Wii, I'm burning through it at one hell of a rate and loving every second of it - BUT I am pretty sure that in saving Rydia's story it's just erased and saved over my supped up characters from the main game - BALLS!

A Couple of Questions

For sound effects try: http://www.freesound.org it's home to a site called the 'Free Sound Project' and has a database of thousands of sound effects.

WIP game uploads?

I've been working on Shadow's Reach for a while now and whilst the original demo had a relatively easy and obvious place to stop and break for the end of the demo, the game from that point has been quite driven and more continuous in its make-up. At the same time however I am very much aware that the demo needs updating. So the question I ask is simple and two-fold:

1) What do people think of WIP game downloads that offer a bigger chunk of play than the demo but lack that complete sample feel?

2) Would they rather see an 'end' to a WIP demo where the player is taken to a special screen, or simply be locked out of the next area and left free to roam the world completing side-quests?

As always, I appreciate everybody's comments and fully encourage discussion :)

MIDI IN RPGMAKER 2000

You sir are a life saver! One of my beta testers for Shadow's Reach was playing with the volume the other day, she must have tweaked the settings.

MIDI IN RPGMAKER 2000

I'm playing around with a new project using new Midi music instead of the standardised rips (shudders) however all that I appear to get when I impliment them into my current build is silence. Are there any know glitches and or fixes with the music on RPGMaker 2000? (And no, answers along the lines of 'just use another program' are not helpful) :)

RM* Variables

I'm still using RM2K (to some people's horror) but I find that I haven't exceeded 5-10 non-system variables.

Chronology of the Last Era-The Last Great RM2K3 Game Ever Made.

I may be playing the role of 'dim' right now, but where can I find a link to the demo for this game? It looks like it could make a fun Sunday's lazing in front of the screen after a looong week :)

Anybody Playing Street Fighter 4?

I don't own a copy of SF4, but was out with friends the other night and wound up at my younger brother's place at 1am playing. I have to admit that I loved it, largely because without having touched a copy of SF2 since the arcades of my youth I was quickly able to pick up a pad and hold my own against people who'd beaten the game on their home consoles. It felt like a natural extension of the original classic and the little added extras to the system were easily approachable and felt natural after a few battles. With Soul Caliber and SF4 on the market, Tekken is going to have a hard time when it is finally released!

Make or break!

lol Because EVER ancient evil will ultimatly return and a decendent of one of the original heroes will be asked to take up the quest to reseal it.

I'm fond of teasing with an initial plot hook, before switching the characters to an unrelated party and slowly drawing them into events. That way the player always knows that something big is happening, but is unaware of the impact it will eventually have.
