HEXATONA'S PROFILE

Hey, I'm a software developer who also happens to work with kentona. I enjoy a spectra of video game genres, but I'm mostly attracted to RPGs. Retro and JRPG are the main thing, but I play others too. Otherwise, pretty much the only games I don't enjoy are serious racing games, and serious sport titles.

I enjoy collecting, and playing, games from the NES up until now, but I'm most proud of my SNES and Playstation 2 collections. Big Earthbound fan. I love music, especially VG OSTs, but suck at anything music theory related. (just like how I love RTS games, but suck at them horribly)

I write as a hobby as well, and occasionally consider painting. I try my hand sometimes at programming my own games from scratch, and making rpg maker titles.

Mostly, aside from work and home life, I read, and play video games. My goal in life is to finish as many of the ones I own before I die. Not sure I'll be able to, but I'll try.

Trials & Tribulations

The world is made up of four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. It's also wrong. There's a fifth element, and generally it's called Surprise.

Grace's Diary

Oh no, I got the good ending first, but because I'm a masochist I went for the bad endings to see what they were like.

Also just got a comment from my Thai friend saying that the best ending is so unfair to Ken. The message is lost somewhere, apparently. I need to be a better writer heh.

See, now I thought Ken got a pretty fair shake. He wasn't all like MUAHAHAHA I LOVE TO TORMENT THE WOMENS!!! You seemed to make the case that he may not have entirely understood what a massive dirtbag he was.

Grace's Diary

Fantastic. Quick, fun and easy, nice art, and conveyed the message really well. No wonder it got first place.

EDIT: Oh man, bad endings... so depressing...

8 Bit Quest

Also, I'm really loving the chiptunes. Kentona, he's even got some chiptuned version of an E.V.O. song in there.

8 Bit Quest

This looks nifty.

Though, I must say: The colour scheme, as well as the art, is straight outta DE's cancelled Akropolis.

EDIT: Not that that's a bad thing - I lurvs me some pixels.

Mastamut

Looks nifty, I'll give 'er a whirl

Hack Saga

I don't think this is a good idea, but I think it would have been hilarious if I made certain spots on the map be monster "spawn points" (invisible of course), and when they came into view, a monster would spawn, but if it went out of view, it would be gone like in the old NES days. and earthbound.

EDIT: come to think of it, that might be an interesting mechanic for a shadows-monsters based roguelike? hmm, file away for future consumption.

EDIT EDIT: and no stealing my idea, KAEL. oh i kid i kid

Rocket Burn

I remember making something simmilar to this in a Game Making class. ah, memories.
