INDRA'S PROFILE
Hallo, I make games.
I'm a mapper/writer and try to escape all other aspects of dev as much as I can.
My pastimes include consuming unhealthy amounts of manga, yaoi pr0n and begging people to work with me so I don't have to event or do gameplay.
Also expect HOARDS of typos from me. And rants. Much typoed rants.

FULL STEAM AHEAD (choo-coo)
I...I'm sorry, it took me a while to unglue my eyes from the wonderful horned and pierced hunk of a delicious ahaghsghshaghsh *chokes on drool*
Anyways, glad you're moving along smoothly (well, as smoothly as possible I guess?) have my most sincere encouragement! (I would have phrased it differenlty, but it would have probably evolved into filthy language describing male chikens rubbing together in wonderful fashion...)

@Asterisk: Glad you enjoyed it!
@edchuy: I will be completely frank and say that A- The battle system is rather rough and unpolished in the demo as of yet, and B- I did not press the difficulty in the demo on purpose, since I didn't want to turn people off the game due to difficulty.
In the full release, the idea (unless that changes for whatever reason) is that the actual combats will be HARD, but also few and far between. Fights are non-repeatable and few in number (there is one dungeon each chapter, with maybe 10 fights total if you count sidequests).
Levels have next to no influence in the game otuside some stat boosts, and you will change the party setup often in any case. Equipment and skill usage (and tactics) will be much more important.
But as it is now, it's a very watered down system. I was far more focused in getting the story and plot across, I admit it. I'm simply biased to those aspects of game making XD
I will also go ahead and say that I did not create the script used for the tactics system myself, so I'm not to claim credit for its niceness.
In any case, I'm glad you enjoyed the demo, hoping you will like the full release next >3

DragoonHP: You're the first ever to comment on the mapping style (and that's the the lower wall thing is, a mapping style, as I despise seeing the outer wall). As a style, It's something I am not about to change, but I'll consider if it's really a problem.
As for the bug: sometimes you "lose track" of turns (not the script's problem, as far as I know) and instead of finishing a turn from the character's menu, you may have accidentally told it NOT to finish. When that happens all players are grayed out: simply press on an empty tile and choose to End Turn from the menu there.
Glad you enjoyed the demo overall. :D

Glad you liked it Jubell <3
Don't worry, things change a whole lot through the game, and not everyone is what they seem initially (heck, mostly all characters change in some way). And you've yet to meet a few more people, so no worries there XD.
@Hasvers: Derp, totally missed answering you. Read your post one mornign while too groggy to rememeber answering and it kinda slipped my mind, sorry XD
Again, the prologue gives little time for the characters to show themselves much, but give them time. Marian and Lorelai are the ones who get the most screen time, but the rest get development later. Even what may seem like a bland character now will probably have something to say in the future, and saying more would be huge spoilers XD
In fact, there is so much stuff I want the characters to say that it will probably require some sort of Extras feature with skits upon clearing the game, since many don't really belong on DURING the game proper (would break tension and all).
I've asked other testers as to the informative dialogue for Marian: the short answer to that is that I can't think of a better way to give it out. There's so much stuff I have to somehow fit in there and while I try to make it as dynamic as possible during dialogue...well, I'm not perfect XD I will try to polish whatever I can, in any case. Personally I don't like abusing narration, as it makes me feel like a cheat somehow, taking things out of scene to dump info :

Mapping in 5 easy steps
@Chaos17: Depending on the conetents, really. If you don't feel confident in the mapping of outer towns (they're hard-ish) I'd keep them as small as you can make them. A trick to this is simply making the "entrance" of towns and fencing off what would be residential areas or anything you don't need, putting the shops and Inn by the entrance of the town and roping off the rest (put a guard saying you can't go in, your own character saying he/her has no business there, etc).
As for actual size, if you use 2 high tile walls (smaller walls cause smaller maps) I'd say, for small towns, stick to as SMALL AS IT FITS YOUR NEEDS. For towns you need no speical events in (such as only Inn and shops) try to see if you can fit a 30*30 map. If you have to go bigger, remember you don't need to fill absolutely everything: you can use certain terrains to suck up space, such as forest/trees, cliffs, river/fountains, patches of farms, fenced areas for animals, etc.
The largest map I've ever done was 60*100, and it took absolutely forever (with cliffs and river and all the jazz). Usually my maps for cities are around 50*50 and above, but smaller towns should take much less. If you have to make big cities, it's also a good idea to split them in different maps. THat way you can skip a lot of "filling" by focusing only on the parts you want.
If I'm not making any sense tell me and I'll try to post some examples XD

Glad you liked it, Aurelia! I'm especially pleased you liked the dialog, it's what I try the most at ; ;
@Clyve: If i could, I would happily do so. I can't therefore I don't. If a skilled scripters wants to help me with it, I'll welcome him/her with open arms.

Lighting by Lotus Games
Personally I don't like or use this sort of fancy lightshow, since it tends to distract me from the actual map navigation and taking in the details by confusing me with shadow overlays and such. The only real use of light effects I ever use is to LIGHT dark areas, and little else :I (also there's the fact that, orz, too much damn work for a single map, and a game has a tone of those).
As a tutorial for those who are interested in using the method, thought, it's not bad.

Lorelai, Queen Review
Actually Liam mostly has a problem wth GIRLY GIRLS, and Keira is obviosuly not acting like one. He does try to dissuade her from coming along on the grounds that a woman may be in danger (and later apologizes for it). Had Keira acted all girly, Liam would have acted like a shy little boy. Since she doesn't, he more or less keeps it steady XD
Actually Aidan also makes comments on the woes of being female or female looking, so it has me a bit intrigued as to what caused such a different perception, since no one else that tested it commented on Keira being male. Curious O.O

Lorelai, Queen Review
I had a very pleasant surprise seeing this. Thanks for taking the time to review!
I can see where you're coming from in most points but...do you mean to tell me yought Keira (Lorelai disguised) is supposed to be MALE...?
Er...why? Isnt her face girly? Liam outright calls refers to her as as FEMALE. I am..a bit confused on that aspect tbh XD
Other than that, I appreciate the review, and will work to improve what aspects seem to need some polish (yeah, plot and combat wise, the prologue doesn't really delve in very deep yet, not much I can do about that).
