Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

I too think the reddish should be replaced. A very dark grey or black would fit.
I also think the ground is a bit too noisy compared to the rest of the tiles... It's a bit hard to look at :D

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

I made a small menu for my Halloween project. It's completely made with events and just calls the standard scenes...

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Still playing No Man's Sky... can't help it... I just love the game.
So many boring planets... but sometimes... sometimes you just find something special!
And then the monoliths and the small stories that hint a larger story...
My imagination is starting to go wild with all this stuff O_o
I even started a small journal xD

And I started the new Deus Ex... can't say much about it cause my PC is overheating :( But the first mission was quite fun. :D

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Another NoMan in the No Man's Sky here... And I totally... named... a planet...

The Featured Game Thread

I just think a commercial game should get all chances a free one has. After all, we always can set such games on our Christmas wishlist, if they should be too expensive. ;P

And it would be somewhat... unfair to feature some random-not-so-good game cause it's free instead of a commercial one that is great. :)

Do you pretty much test as you go or after a build up of development?

Probably I spend much more time testing than developing.....
In scenes I always want to have perfect timings for moveroutes, animations, etc.
In gameplay I always look if my technique is still working as intended etc. etc.
It's time consuming... but more testing is never bad :D

WIN SOME // LOSE SOME - What game did you think would suck was actually awesome, and vice versa?

Dark Souls 2 I was soooo hyped for the second title... then it came out and in the first few minutes I "felt" it wasn't a "real" Dark Souls. Everything felt different. The atmosphere wasn't as tight as in the first game (expect for Majula), the controls had a strange way of responding (what often lead to my death), the character animations felt as if you would play a moving rock. Most enemies where just dudes with long ranged weapons or heavy tanks who roll on your face, when attacking from behind. The great leveldesign from DS2 was gone completely.
And it did look as if a bunch of kids made the graphics. Engine-wise it looked better. But it was a bit like beginners with RPG Maker. Big empty boring maps with lots of noticable tileable textures. DS1 had a way grungier look, felt super immersive and the levels looked like there could actually once lived some people in the areas. DS2 was just a bunch of randomly thrown together fantasy locations.... which you couldn't even explore a lot.

Dark Souls 3
After DS2 I didn't expected anything at all from 3. In the end... the game was much better that 2, but not nearly as great as DS1 or Bloodborne. Super unfair double-Bossfights everywhere included. (The ones, where you defeated a Boss just to see him fill up his healthbar again and enter into a complete different fight style -.-)
But all together I enjoyed the game.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Another souls-like game arrived an the PC.
Salt and Sanctuary
A sidescrolling, metroidvania, souls game... in 2D.
Well.... what could go wrong? xD

At first I doubted that this can work well, but the game actually feels very good. But it's almost as if you'd play Dark Souls 1 without the third dimension.
It's not as hard as DS, but it's as fair and fun as DS. Tons of areas to explore, secrets to find, bosses to fight. It even has a Souls-Message System implemented. But so far only local Co-op. :/ And luckily... no invaders! <3
Played about 10 hours now and I'm at the middle of the game. A bit less even.
