[Poll] Your favorite RPG Setting

Fantasy is the best setting for me. You have all possibilities and can use them.
When I look for example at Lost Odyssey, there they use magic like we use electricity :D They have immortal protagonists, sad backroundstories and a lot
of other fancy stuff.
I like such. Reallity is boring. Therefore we play games :D

Meta-Mapping

I tried to prepare my maps once, but than I created things which aren't possible with square tiles xD
- So I basicaly start to think about how big my map should be.
- Then I start filling the ground with gras or something and with another tile
I paint some outlines to imagine how it could look like. How building structures
and other things could work.
- And then it's time to add real stuff and make the map \o/

Yeah, somewhat like that. I'm really chaotic xD

Name your maker!

I started with 2k but never got far with it.
Some years later I started again with XP and stayed with it for both of my games.
I love the 3 layers, the sprites and I'm familiar with all the event
commands so far :D
Also I started with rgss1 and don't want to learn again at the moment.

Is it bad to add tons of custom stuff?

I think you will get a great looking game with just using RTP stuff, if you are able to use your resources well enough.
But peronaly I always try to find some graphics which aren't used that often and combine them with my own work. Also I think poses are very important. So I try adding as many custom poses as I can.
If this slows developement for my game a bit, it's ok for me. Although my game is quite small. When you make a realy big game then it could be bad to make that much custom stuff on your own. Consider letting someone else help you with that. Otherwise decide whether you want your game to be finished soon or looking great. :D

Rpg Maker XP for 18 bucks on Steam

author=Amy
There is a HUGE RMXP community around the web, probably moreso than VX Ace.

Not here in Germany T_T
Most people here are using Ace...

I couldn't live without my 3 layers xD

Rpg Maker XP for 18 bucks on Steam

XP is still a great engine! :O
I made both of my games with it. (ok, I'm still making them xD)
The only reasons why so many people use Ace is because it has better performance
and because it's the newest maker
IMO :P

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Assassins Creed 4

And Dark Souls.... again... and again.... and again @.@
Why is this game so great? D,:

How Far Along In Production to Make a Game Page?

I made my gamepage a few weeks before the first demo was finished.
Just to show the idea first. And after that the demo.

I also think that the length of a demo depends of the maximum length of your final game. If it has 20 or more hours of gameplay, than an hour or more would be great.
But as an example: my game will have 4-6 hous of gameplay in the end -> so the first demo ist just about half an hour.

You can create the page also to shoh how much you get better while you are making your game. So that would be a good reason to make an early gamepage....

But in the end, it is really up to you.

How bad is your eyesight?

I was 10 years old or so, when I started to see bad. In school I sat on one of the back tables and couldn't see anything xD.
Since than I need new glasses every 2 years or so.

I'm nearsighted because of an astigmatism. T_T
By this time I'm at -10 on both eyes. :(
So... feeling like a mole.....

[Poll] What do you think about multiple endings?

Multiple endlings gives me the feeling that I'm not just a viewer.
In big games (with 20, 40, 60 or more hours of gameplay) it is great to see that all my decissions are leading to an end I maybe didn't expected. (As long as they really differ from each other)
In linear games I prefer jut one ending.
And if there are more I don't want to play the exact same game again to see the others. In such cases I like this typical dialogues:
"Would you choose a or b?"
(this will be the way I coose in my own project)
