[GREEN] - GAYmak the Rainbow

Name: Felix
Age: 26

Description: A elven druid with a prosthetic arm made from enchanted wood. He carries himself with awful posture and tends to mumble when he talks. When he stands still, he often blends in with the trees around him. His long, dark green hair hasn't been cut his entire life. Very prone to muttering negative comments, especially about himself. Interactions with other humanoids utterly confuse him, especially those of a romantic nature.

Background: Felix's parents lived deep in the forests, away from all other civilization. As such, Felix was not raised with very good people skills. At all. After a fire claimed the lives of his parents and his right arm, Felix had to start interacting with nearby villages to trade for his own survival. His miserable, moody, and standoffish personality didn't earn him many friends; most of the villagers treat him as some sort of enigmatic local legend. His thoughts on this are mixed.

Allowed for use: Yes, but please let me know!

[RED] - GAYmak the Rainbow

Name: Ahlyn
Age: 32

Description:
A blood mage with short, fair hair and a passion to use her skills to help others. Wears overly flashy clothes and moves with a confidence and flair that's generally frowned upon by other mages. Is quite a bit extra and every bit a hand talker. Outgoing and an open flirt towards all genders.

Background:
Ahlyn comes from a secluded village that dedicated itself to its bloodmagic craft. She was meant to succeed her father as village chief, however between her father refusing to accept her gender and her desire to see bloodmagic used to help those outside of the village, her younger brother succeeded her instead and she was sent into exile. A fate that suit her quite fine. Freed from the expectations of her village, Ahlyn now travels the area using her magic as she pleases and living as the person she knows she is.

Allowed for use: Yes! But if you use her, please let me know :)

GAYmak the Rainbow event

I AM too busy, but designing characters is like a healing process between busy things. It'll be nice destress after cutting prints and pins~

GAYmak the Rainbow event

Hello!!

Are we allowed to do characters for each day but then not the game at the end? I'm working Artist Alley at a convention that weekend, but I really want to participate in the character side of it.

If it helps, I'd be fine with people using my characters in their games as well.

Anyway, I skimmed the thread before asking, and I don't think I saw an answer for this.

[Poll] Does RPG Maker net have low engagement rate?

I'm not sweeping it under the rock, I'm trying to explain why things are the way they are.

You are. If a customer comes to you and says "hey this product you sold me is bad because-" your initial reaction shouldn't be "it's bad that way because reasons."

All you've done is admit to the customer that their input lacks any value to you, because you've shown a lack of interest in fixing the problem they brought to your attention. You've also done yourself the disservice of admitting that you knew it had those flaws when you sold it to them.

That's a great way to break trust between yourself and your potential customers.

What you should do with that feedback is first thank them for their time and purchase and input. Go away the comments they gave, sit on them for awhile and sort out what is useful information and what is not. (Because not every comment a customer makes its useful.) Then apply what you took away from the experience either to the current game or the next.

That immediate gut reaction to defend the things your customer found wrong with your product doesn't reflect well on you as a developer.

Winterruption

How amazing that an event lined up with a time period where I'll have a bit of free time and a lot of urge to game dev. :D Got something bubbling in my brain already; this will be fun.

April was a Fool Review

Thanks so much for playing our game and writing this review!
(Your writing style is really easy to read. Like it flows nice. Anyway...)

I'm glad that AwaF was able to hit you with the emotional punch it wanted, despite its short running time, and especially glad that that was largely because the characters were enjoyable. :) (because this is less about saving the world from Evil and more about saving this broken lot of people from their own demons.)

The game was very much built with taking otome and RPG tropes in hand and subverting them with a club to the head - and I'm happy that came through. Balancing purposeful cliches can be a dangerous game.

Thank you again!

Castle Chase

You're welcome! And thank you for playing~

Thank you both! The character in the center is Professor Iwasaki Namihei. Unfortunately he's flipped there so the Kanji is backwards, but the kanji it's written with makes his name translate roughly to "waves beyond the rocks" :D

They're all so cute~ It looks like they are having a little party.
