16x16 tiles in MV. Honestly, I'm considering buying this because of how crisp and readable low rez art becomes in it.
Also because my room mate can code in javascript and hey, free scripts!
Considering 48 is just 16 times 3, it's easy to blow up retro graphics for MV.
Other than that, there are plugins that change the tile sizes anyhow.
RPG Maker MV announced for PC and MAC
The fact that MV uses open GL and runs on the GPU AND CPU is enough for me.
It means the software will run smoothly, the game will run smoothly.. and from what i have seen, it does.

I love the RPG Maker 5 soundtrack(it was part 5 in japan but part 2 in the US)
I really wish they did a port of RPG Maker for PS2 for PC.

Multi(ple) Version
I have said it over and over, yet folks still wanna debate it.
It has more than one battle system, you can port it to "multiple" devices..
I don't get how difficult to understand that is.
Archea corrected me not long ago.
Seems it DOES mean Mobile Version... but that sounds stupid to me.. as it's not ONLY for mobile..
And yeah, I have noticed quite a lot of folks still use 2000 and 2003.
I think it's cause they prefer the 16x16 graphics over the 32x32 or even the new 48x48.
You would think EB and Kadokawa Games would noticed this issue and allow for custom tile sizes... but so far.. nope.
Considering it has the ability to use JS Plugins... maybe their can be a scripting/coding way around it..

Maybe yours will be better than mine.. who knows.

Anyhow..
One thing that's been going on in my head is..
If MV has a side view battle system option.. will folks keep using 2K3, or maybe switch over to this one?
That's been running through my mind..

Mega Virus
RPG Maker 10 would have been perfect since its the 10th RPG Maker and with the release of Windows 10...
For those not familiar with the ordering:
RPG Maker
RPG Maker 2
RPG Maker 3
RPG Maker 95
RPG Maker 2000
RPG Maker 2003
RPG Maker XP
RPG Maker VX
RPG Maker VX Ace
That's actually VERY off.
You don't count the console ones.
And on top of that, there are far more than 3 console RPG Makers.. especially when you look in japan.
The super Nintendo had 2 RPG Makers.
Playstation 1 had 3 as well if i'm not mistaken.
Then the 2 on the playstation 2.
It's best to ONLY count the PC installments.
And you missed one by the way.
RM 95
RM 98
RM 2000
RM 2003
RM XP
RM VX
RM VX Ace
And now RM MV.
Only 8 RPG Makers on PC.
If you count the console ones as well.. we're WAY past 10 my friend.

MV "Multi(ple) Version"..
And I think it will help a lot... well I know it will help me at least.
MV "Multi(ple) Version"..
author=WolfCoderYeah a bit too simple.. but at least it's there.author=MarkusTRPG Maker XP had a lot of options in its map editor, but you had to micro a lot even to make simple maps, it was tedious. I kind of understand the fully automatic approach, but the MV one looks like it will be too oversimplified.
...RMXP had/has something for this, it was called "priorities...

author=TayruuOh dear lord.
Heck speaking of layer stuff, are we still stuck with short characters that don't work right if they're more than two tiles tall? (i.e. in VXA by default if you stand in front of like a lamp post, your character can poke through star priority tiles)
RMXP had/has something for this, it was called "priorities".
I know cause i used it a lot, for fences for example, depending on the priority, if say.. my character was 64 pixels tall and the fence was only 32, if i stood below it, the upper body would be in front of the fence, and if stood even with the fence, or even above it and say.. it was like 40 pixels high.. the player would appear behind it.
Priorities were great for this.
None of the RPG Makers have had priorities since XP, BUT there are some scripts to.. at lease simulate the fence.
It was not any sort of nightmare to use.
VX and Ace don't have it.
And there MIGHT be a way to set something similar up in MV, we just have to wait and see.
A JS plugin perhaps.
