I myself am looking to make a alice in wonderland themed game but cannot find sprites like the one in this game. Is there any ways you would be willing to share the sprites and character art. I love the look of the characters and would love to be able to use them in my game.

I'm pretty sure the site where I got them is down. It's credited, but yeah, they're not around anymore, and I don't really want to share when they're not publicly available. (In that same sense, I don't think I even have the original files)

Final Fantasy VIII: Sleeping Lion Heart

Yep, that's about right, though I'm adding certain areas and not doing others. For example, I'm obviously not doing the Lunatic Pandora, Ragnarok, etc, etc.

What's done is Deling City, Dollet, Winhill, and a few other maps, like the headmaster's office and the orphanage exterior (and there's some new dungeons)

And also...yes, yes it will. Pft.

Final Fantasy VIII: Sleeping Lion Heart

expect some more significant progress being posted here since dollet was a key milestone and is the last area being 'replicated' for part 1

This is using Modern_Algebra's Face Options script (you can find it on RMRK with little hassle)

Each expression is set up like this:

The script contains codes to change the faceset file and the index being displayed at any time, so for that particular message window I changed the file to make his expression shift. Since they're all set up as 'talk' faces, he just cycles through his talk frames as normal.

In that window I set it to the wrong index (1 instead of 0) so he stops on the wrong frame. And after the face is changed, the blink frame has to be reset too, otherwise it'll revert to the old face.

So it's all just using RM's faceset function, so there's no picture position issues to worry about :'D

still working out kinks, but I've finally got the facesets operating how I want, wahoo!
