Got hit with a major hiccup where a certain teleport command refused to work as intended. Thankfully I'm a lot older than when I was first making evented systems, and therefore, a little better at testing. It did set me back a lil, but you can now go from one end of the game to the other, there's some basic enemy builds, and for the most part its a matter of filling in detail rather than building basic functionality.
Running from one end to the other can take anywhere between 2 to 5 minutes already so i could totally submit it now!

I should have mapping mostly done by tomorrow...I've been primarily working on event code and RTP fiddles.

How did this one comment get the game buzzing, that's the real question. I'm not helping matters by responding to it, admittedly.
In what is not an update worthy of images or blogposts, I'm doing back end database stuff I should've had done a long time ago but didn't. There's other things I've been working on toward the game but that's the gist of it.
In a longer comment, essentially I came to the realisation that the game's structure wasn't fun or engaging in the way I wanted, several months ago at this point. So I did a story restructure that will require a few more assets, but isn't going to bore your socks off. That's been fully written and scoped already.
I do wish I had something to show for the 21st anniversary of the NA release but given Square Enix didn't either, you shouldn't be too disappointed.

...but I'd say its because it's a Photobucket image. RMN gamepage backgrounds/headers, especially on games this old, are all hosted externally.
I'll see if I can find the original and reupload.

Probably way too late for this, but whenever I get into a boss battle, there is either no music or background noise. I've played many games and have not encountered this issue.
Which music did you pick to play (7,8,9)? IIRC, FF9's is bugged. I'm not entirely sure why at this stage, as yeah, it's been a number of years since I've touched this game.
