Just a game dev who primarily uses RPG Maker VX Ace and enjoys writing and composing the most. I love horror games, adventure games, JRPGs, and practically any game with a compelling story.
A brief description of my projects:
Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story (Complete)
A high school dating sim with a dark twist. While you begin the game as a normal teenage boy looking for a date for prom, you'll quickly find yourself in the midst of a bloody, horrific mystery. Gameplay is primarily story and exploration driven, with numerous surprises for those who take their time to explore, with a touch of macabre adventure-style puzzles.
Turovero: The Celestial Tower (Completed)
A traditional JRPG that slowly unfolds into a deeper, darker mystery (I think this is going to become a theme with my games...). Play as four archetypal heroes ascending a mysterious tower to defeat an ancient evil, only for them to find that things aren't quite as they seem. Gameplay is a mixture of dungeon crawling and turn-based battles with plenty of environmental puzzles to solve, as well as a choice-driven narrative with multiple routes and endings.

Rethinking Antagonists
Oh sure, you may not NEED a show-stoppingly evil central antagonist to make a good story (I've played plenty of games where the "antagonist" was a team of characters, a nebulous entity/concept, or even the protagonist's flaws themselves), but as a writer of stories, I will say this: they are fun as hell to write and just as fun to experience as a player/reader/consumer of media.
Sure, they may be overdone, but "overdone" doesn't have to mean "bad". I will eat up a cocky, unstable, unabashedly evil villain any day of the week, especially if they have an interesting story of their own. This is exactly what I tried to do (and hopefully succeeded in doing) with my own game's villain; make them someone interesting who is having so much fun being evil that the audience can't help but have fun right along with them.
But hey, I'm a bit old-fashioned in my tastes, so take my opinion with a grain of salt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story Review
Hi there, just dropping by to say that your concerns about the game over scenes and collision with objects have all been addressed in the updated version of the game. Thanks again for your feedback that made it possible! :D
What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
I'm flip flopping between the two game ideas I mentioned earlier for my next project (once I'm moved and things settle down IRL) and for the straight-up horror one, I want to set it in my home state, Texas. Despite how big we are we don't get too much representation in video games, and it'd be nice to have a game that showcases the more positive aspects of our culture (by which I mean "everything besides the bigoted rednecks that give us a bad name". We're actually an extremely racially and culturally diverse area and I think people forget that sometimes).
Besides, who doesn't want a horror game that prominently features guitars and cowboy aesthetics? Because I sure want that. :P

What are you thinking about right now?
I am............ so tired.................. =_=
My actual career job is hard stuff, no wonder it took me 16 months to make Prom Dreams... (not that I hate it or anything, I love what I do, it's just hard sometimes XD)

author=Kevincalanorauthor=Gredge109I like this plan of action too, I have these two stories where things got too specific and they ended up in pre-production hell.
I always do one of those barebones outlines. I'll put a note on my phone with the intro, the middle (merging gameplay and story), and the end. Then I'll go from there.
It helps me a lot to keep the outline light, and along the way I'll draw sketches in a notebook of different gameplay mechanics or whatever, but I like to keep the story planning nice and loose.
Because I never get all the assets right to get them right, graphic and mechanic-wise.
Also as quoted before, do have some outline though or things will get messy.

Finally got the base weekday UI from my VNsort ofworking.
It's also planned is to add some virtual sticky notes around the screen with some tips and notes regarding the playthrough. "Literature needs work", "Login for 20-man Raid Sunday", "Meet Lucille at the mall this Saturday"...
Uh, shouldn't that be "Today's schedule" and not "Today schedule"?
Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story
author=IAmJakeSauvageauthor=MiremiraOK - I guess I should give it another chance then. The beginning is so long-winded that I quit for fear of falling asleep.
I haven't finished the game yet but I can say that this is definitely one of my favorite rpg horror games I've played! You did a great job!! The beginning was a little slow I must admit, but that was necessary for the horror elements to be all the more startling. Love it!
It takes about an hour or 2 to actually get to the horror, but the game itself is anywhere from 9 to 13 hours of gameplay total. If you go in thinking it's gonna be super short, well, it's not. :P
Joke Art And Other Abominations (Because Why Not)
Your Avatar
author=Red_NovaFor those that don't know, the famous Ditman Glitch in Resident Evil 4 almost doubles Leon's animation speeds, including fire rate, running speed, and reload speed. This also applies whenever Leon is interacting with an object, which leads to hilarious results.
Who can think of a funny caption to go with this image?
"I must go Ashley, my people need me. *NYOOM*"
Anyway, my avatar is the emblem of the school that acts as the setting for Prom Dreams (my game). I'll likely change it when I start my next project to something related to that game, haha.
