QZPRODUCTIONS'S PROFILE

Just a game dev who primarily uses RPG Maker VX Ace and enjoys writing and composing the most. I love horror games, adventure games, JRPGs, and practically any game with a compelling story.

A brief description of my projects:

Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story (Complete)

A high school dating sim with a dark twist. While you begin the game as a normal teenage boy looking for a date for prom, you'll quickly find yourself in the midst of a bloody, horrific mystery. Gameplay is primarily story and exploration driven, with numerous surprises for those who take their time to explore, with a touch of macabre adventure-style puzzles.

Turovero: The Celestial Tower (Completed)

A traditional JRPG that slowly unfolds into a deeper, darker mystery (I think this is going to become a theme with my games...). Play as four archetypal heroes ascending a mysterious tower to defeat an ancient evil, only for them to find that things aren't quite as they seem. Gameplay is a mixture of dungeon crawling and turn-based battles with plenty of environmental puzzles to solve, as well as a choice-driven narrative with multiple routes and endings.
Turovero: The Celestial ...
A dark fantasy RPG where truth and lies collide and nothing is as it seems.

What are you jamming to?

I've been pretty obsessed with covers/remixes of the ED of Madoka Magica ("Magia" by Kalafina) lately. I think this one might be my favorite:

TAMERAI WO NOMIHOSHITE

What are you thinking about right now?

I always refer to my game's characters with increasingly insulting terms of endearment. Like "Socially Myopic Son" for my protagonist and "Salty-Ass Teenage Bitch" for my villain. See also "Moeblob Cinnamon Roll," "Alpha Bitch", and "Tsundere Piece of Shit".

Does anyone else do this when talking about their characters or am I just weird?

I haven't finished the game yet but I can say that this is definitely one of my favorite rpg horror games I've played! You did a great job!! The beginning was a little slow I must admit, but that was necessary for the horror elements to be all the more startling. Love it!

Thank you, I'm so glad you're enjoying it!! ;w;

Honestly, I hadn't intended for the game to be as long or drawn out as it wound up being. ^^;; Even though the beginning is basically straight up dating sim antics, I wanted there to be enough of a draw to keep people going, so I'm glad you thought there was. Good luck finishing it and let me know what you think!!

[RMVX ACE] Decent faceset creator?

My own game is made up entirely of "generated" facesets from Facemaker 3.1 - I say that because I didn't use the generator per se, but I imported its parts into Gimp (it's basically open-source photoshop - and it's free!) and colored/edited them to my liking. By combining parts with some clever image editing, you can get some fairly decent results. Here are some examples (including some male ones):

As you can see, you can do a hell of a lot more with the parts in an image editor than in the generator itself (even change skin colors in a way that doesn't look like crap!). If you have any graphic design experience I'd highly suggest fooling around in Gimp or Photoshop and seeing what you can come up with :V

Going to try this out today. I'll make sure to write my thoughts when I'm finished.

Sweet!! Thank you friend, I look forward to it :D

What is the most terrifying thing you've ever seen in a video game?

As corny as Resident Evil 4 can be, I still scream like a little bitch whenever a Regenerador comes on screen. IT'S THE BREATHING NOISES I SWEAR...

This game looks great! I'm going to play it either way, but would you mind if I recorded myself for a let's play?

Please do, by all means!! There's a clause in the Read Me with specific rules regarding credit, etc for Let's Players (it's nothing much, just a link in the video description at the least). Let me know when you upload it so I can promo you! :D

Fanciness and cut-off score

I just released my first game and all the visuals are cobbled together from generator parts and stock art, but it seems to be doing fairly well review and popularity-wise regardless. I can't draw my way out of a paper bag so I just circumvented it as much as possible. :V

Basically don't even worry about your visuals; if you can't make them flashy, oh well, just do your best and play to your strengths. JUST... *SQUAT* DO IT

Does it matter that we use the Christian cross in our games?

I've always thought it was a little bit lazy tbh; why not create a new symbol if you go through the effort to construct a new belief system? Plus I always did think it was somewhat tacky to use real-life religious symbols out of context like that (not OMG I'M SO OFFENDED BY YOUR CULTURAL APPROPRIATION!!! levels, but just slightly annoying as a religious person myself). But hey ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What are you thinking about right now?

I bought curry on my way home from work but now my stomach's like BUT I DON'T WAAAAANT FOOD WAAAAH even though I haven't eaten since 11 this morning. Stupid stomach, let me enjoy my damn curry >:(
