Introducing Balance World
It took time to setup, but I feel I saved even more. The most time consuming was making sure each dungeon's treasure appears here, which was too important to the game's balance to not include.
How do you make spells unique?
One thing I've always enjoyed is elemental spells that combo with each other.
An example from my current game:
Water makes a target wet
Lightning against wet targets does extra damage
Ice against wet freezes the target
Fire causes burning (damage over time)
Wind against burning spreads burning to all enemies
Earth (plant magic in this case) upgrades burning to a stronger, more damaging version
Fire against wet targets (or vice versa) automatically casts a bonus scalding steam spell for free

I almost forget I was making a game
Thanks for the support :)
Script is a generous word for what I have, but I do have enough notes to finish the story. I feel like I'm learning too late the value of a formally written scrip that could be shared and proofread. Maybe I should organize what I have better.

@Ramshackin
That looks great. I really like the little bits of machinery here and there.
Thanks :)

My only miner (hehe) complaint is that some of the bridge supports have water at the bottom.
Wow this whole time I thought it was metal plating at the bottom...

I'm getting better at game dev and it's ruining everything

Rather than remaking those parts entirely, why not just go out and fix a few things that stick out to you as jarring? I mean I'm sure the entire thing can't be bad.
Yeah, I'm doing my best to pick parts that stick out. It's been helpful writing down what I want to get out of storytelling, and puzzles, and battles, and world building. Then combing through the game and finding the parts that miss the mark. Like I feel dumb for not defining this at the start.

This may sound awful, but honestly I try not to worry as much about consistent quality and just accept that these things happen, and make the game. To me a complete yet imperfect game that exists for people to play is a million times better than a perfect work in progress that infinitely gets remade.
I like this. Complete and imperfect sounds like something I can pull off ;)
My goal with the rest of this game is make it and polish once.

the trick is to never be good at anything
I'll make sure to practice this going forward :)
What was the worst/funniest/most memorable moment you've had while someone else was playing your game?
I had a multiplayer rpg and found out one of my testers was playing all 4 characters at once. He bound everyone's movement to the same keys and stacked everyone on top of each other by walking into the corner of the room.
Once my 8 year old nephews found an rpg maker game I made when I was 11. They thought it was the coolest thing. They even liked it better than any game I've made in the last few years.
