Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

That's weird, no one else has had a crash in a very long time. Was it just a random RGSS3 player has stopped, or was there an error? I'm glad you got through it, but if it happens again or with any regularity please don't hesitate to let me know and I will do my best to stop it.

To everyone else, the Mix Fix I posted earlier has been updated. The fix before was not working with save files, now it should be just fine. Also, Patch 1.35 was missing some files from the older patches. That has been fixed as well. Thanks for the patience, I am hoping these nearly daily patches will not be needed soon as we fix up everything you guys find.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Cool! Bonus dungeon should get you up to around 30. If the Fortuneteller sees nothing, it means you did get all of the character sidequests. There are still a few other things you can get, if you missed them (sounds like you got at least a few of them, though). I will make the sidequest guide public in a second, there are still several missing but I have added the stuff people seem to miss most frequently.

That's a little bit better... but you're right 142 Strength should be doing a bit better than that. I think the problem is that Fievel doesn't have a lot in the way of self-buffs besides the Fists, whereas Doid can do Memento Mori, Aeth has Faith, and so on... so all Fievel has is the raw stat. That said, Fievel's attacks are effectively instant and free, while others have to buff a bit first and/or have casting times. But that said his Strength was nearly double their Intellect, haha. I'll tweak stuff a bit! I'm sure people must be getting tired of these daily patches, though.

Mix guide is being worked on right now. =)

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Wow, grats on finishing the game! What was your playtime? I'll need to get that sidequest guide up in case you missed anything. Were you able to find the +2 stat magicites? On to the bonus dungeon now! Nice of you to post your setup, I'll go over it in the spoiler!~

I'm really, really happy to hear you enjoyed the game so much. Thank you so much for playing and giving so much awesome feedback. =D

Aeth is a powerhouse when set up right! As a fyi, his spellblade damage is based on both his physical attack and his Intellect. It actually raises his damage more upping Intellect than Strength. You'll still get a benefit from Strength, though, and his offhand hits would be stronger if you use that setup.

I actually had Spellblade working with both weapons, but it was just way, way overpowered, haha.

Doid's a great choice too! He's probably the most versatile character in the game if you get all of his abilities. You're right that more Intellect would benefit him also. Earrings also work for Blue Magic, by the way, if you're looking for even more damage.

I'm actually going to check Fievel's skills out... I feel like he should be doing a lot more damage than that with 142 Strength! Was that with Asuran Fists? It might need to be tweaked to scale a bit more with Strength. You're right though, he's great at clearing packs! Did you try using Deadly? That should have done a lot of damage also. Also, skill damage is based off of the main hand only, so Genji gloves are more effective just for regular attacking, or for Aeth since Spellblade uses regular attack. Sounds like you made great use of Fievel's skills though!

I had definitely envisioned Divinus as more of a support character, and you definitely put her to use! The "Item healer" setup is really powerful, and lets you just keep Reflect up without a care. Mix can do some great stuff, I should probably put up a Mix guide as well since otherwise it takes a ton of trial and error to find all the best stuff.

Definitely a great setup, I really like the strategies you used, none of the testers really did anything similar, so it's fun to read about how well new things work! Great thinking there. I'll be sure and get that sidequest guide up. I also feel like I should perhaps put little tidbits about some of the accessories and stuff. Like for example, the Conqueror's Mark will force crits even on physical skills and Spellblade... but at the cost of 20 mp per hit.

Thank you again for playing! The bonus dungeon really ramps up the difficulty, so please don't hesitate to ask if there's anything you want to know or feel you are missing!

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Ack, sorry guys! It's in progress, so it's only supposed to be visible to testers and devs right now.... let me have a look and see why it's showing up. ;;

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Oh, I'm sorry! I'll change the file name to be more specific. The top file, with the most downloads should be the full game. It should just say Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance v1.3. Sorry for the confusion!

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

You were able to download the game and it just doesn't play? Are you getting the full version or the patch? The patch is meant to be added to an already installed game. If the full version won't play I'll definitely have a look!

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Glad to hear it! I also increased the base battle speed a bit... max speed should be pretty quick now. If it's still not fast enough, let me know, but I checked several FF games and I couldn't find one where the bars moved faster on their max speed.

EDIT: Ok, looks like FF4CC is just a little bit faster on max speed. I'll think about adding another speed setting for people who want even faster ATB. It'll make Haste useless though, haha.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

@mangnaangemon For the genji glove it is really personal preference. There isnt really a best character to put it on. Just remember that you get any side benefits from both weapons. So for example, if you use a dagger offhand with a dagger user, their crit will go up with both weapons. 2 daggers will give you really high crit. Or an elemental sword will allow both weapons to hit weaknesses. Dual wield in this game works like FF6, where you actually hit with each weapon rather than just a combined attack. Grats on winning, you do not have to beat that fight to continue, so gj!

@Omnion testers were annoyed at having cancel and menu as the same key. Spacebar sprints, and you can turn on auto dash in the config too. Hope you enjoy, there is a fair bit to do!

@Noel Nice tips! Thanks for pointing out that spoiler, I'll get that fixed.

Sorry for the brevity of responses my phone doesnt like this site haha.

Download has been updated to version 1.3, and a patch has been uploaded for older versions. Aside from a few fixes, I've optimized some scripts and found a window that was not disposing properly. After doing this and playing for a while, I noticed no slowdown. People who have been having issues with it, please let me know if this update helped.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

For fishing, what you want to do is try to reel the fish in when it's not pulling against you. If you reel while it is pulling against you, your line will break faster. As for the chests, you can catch them but you'll need better fishing rods, with some chests taking better rods than others.

For Blitz, in the help window it says what buttons you need to press. When the input window comes up, press those buttons then confirm. You can call the help window in the skill menu by pressing space.

EDIT: Oh, you got it. Cool! Good luck~
