1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana
*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Sweet Middleground 5 ~the cave~ Review
author=Marrend
This exact room was giving me a lot of issues/headaches, trying to figure out how to get through to where this screenshot is positioned at. I ended up throwing my hands up, and editing the map with Ace. So, good on you for figuring it out!
After playing the other games in the series fairly recently, (and the fourth entry yet another time because that's where I was introduced to it), I can agree that the music here is modified version from previous entries. You could say the whole game is like a giant throwback to the previous entries, though, there is a kind of reasoning behind that other than pure nostalgia value.
Heheheh I admit that that puzzle took me one or two tries (had to reset it a couple of times, the biggest problem for me here was the darkness!) before finding the right combination but these were by far my favourite parts because I love these kind of puzzles (I remember that many people had also trouble with the 2nd Repent Loci game and its puzzles, but for me it was ok), well I liked them a lot, as much as I hated the part there you have to fight the blue guys in the lake with the spiral path full of brambles! Argh that was terrible (since they actually shoot!) anyway I did it.
Yep, it's a throwback, but still the rpg elements are totally new and while I didn't like these so much, I must compliment Zorga for actually adding something new instead of simply making a game that's "more of the same", because you know after 4 other titles the puzzle can become stale (well this doesn't happen with this series and does not happen with Repent Loci either!).

Though arguably the hardest boss fight in this game is against Texas Hot Dog Ranger since he moves and shoots at the same time. At least I assume this is why TheRpgmakerAddict thinks this boss is the toughest of the three.
Yep! I did that fight so many times that I was almost ragequitting! I dunno maybe I suck, but all the parts before that bossfight are quite slow-paced.
author=thesacredlobo
I'd argue the final boss is still worse since you have to defeat him three times in order to beat the game.
I repeated this boss fight only two times, I think I died once on the second section. Not too bad, I mean the final opponent is the Final Boss, so... I expected him to be tougher!
Heisei Pistol Show Review

Thanks for the review, it pretty much sums up my thoughts after completing the game. Also, I can't recommend Memories of Matsuko enough, just go watch this masterpiece you all.
Yes, I have to watch it since I was familiar only with the works of Seijun Suzuki, the author of Pistol Opera (after finding his popular quote I make movies that make no sense and make no money on the net I went to research what he did, and I watched Pistol Opera... one or two years ago).
On the other hand I've still to watch Memories of Matsuko!

author=Zorgaauthor=TheRpgmakerAddictCan I get back the half-star it cost me? : D
Gotta update the review, then!
The little movements, I like them too. They're economical and lively. I think they'll become a constant in my games, they're in Sweet Mid 5 already.
I put no stock in the puzzles in that game though, it's all about the story, really. But what can I say, I'm morally obligated to slide a sokoban in every game~
Already done, I was editing the text! :P
Anyway I never found annoying the companion presence in SM, maybe places were bigger or better, their presence was limited.
Story was good... but... BUT... I cannot comment or it would be s huge spoiler heh. Just to say: I expected one particular culprit, then my attention shifted to other two and then... I weas right in the beginning! Lol

You'll be furious, but I think you skipped the game mentioning that the S key pushes Shire away xD.
Even with that, I'll admit that he was somewhat in the way, though. That's one thing I'll have to improve in the eventual sequel.
WHAAAT? When when when does that happen? I totally missed it and there were no info later about that... Looooool. Uhmmmmm yeah I tried Z,X,C because usually these were the keys normally used with Rpgmaker. Gotta update the review, then!

You got it, it's around 1920, it's more or less England, and it's the reason for the visuals and music. I'm happy you liked them - except for the portraits, on which I spent little effort compared to other games.
For this particular game, the story is everything though, and if it worked, I'm satisfied~
Well I liked the portraits and their halo of white behind them. And I like the little movements they do, charming. About the minigames and puzzles... well they are ok, but probably last Sweet Middleground and Repent Loci (great) episodes made me more demanding! :D
Anyway it's a good game!
I got thrown into a world that looks exactly the same as mine but there's nobody around anymore, trying to figure out what to do Review

I don't have the The Lover's Final Ballad, sorry.
Nevermind. I'm monitoring the forum where it should come out the new version, I will archive it as soon as it comes out, before it disappears into darkness (again)!
I miss that and Jaquio angel of Death/JAOD

MAX KNUCKLE Review
author=GreisDomain
Thanks for the review! I am definitely hoping to polish the game up in the future with future updates, notably with the battle graphics and game balance (it honestly is pretty much luck based at the end of the day)
Any suggestions on things you'd like to see in a future version? I'm definitely open to ideas ^^
Well th system and the idea aren't bad, it's more the graphic/style department that needs something added, I dunno, battlers, different backgrounds, a more colorful menu... for the rest I'm pretty much ok for the gameplay as it is, I do not mind a simple game, the characters have cool different skills, no idea if they are balanced since I only used a couple of them, but it was ok for a short game.
