THERPGMAKERADDICT'S PROFILE

A player of almost every Rpgmaker2000/2003 game ever made (in english, italian, spanish, japanese, russian and german), fond of drawing (from portraits to pixel art), writing, rpgs (tabletop, crpg and jrpg) and fantasy addict (including Final fantasy, of course).

Review Vote Guidelines:
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Star Stealing Prince Review

10 year old game gets new review!! (God I feel old saying that)

I'm glad you took the time to play it and while some things were not your cup of tea (the battles--they are probably definitely showing their age now), I'm happy you still enjoyed it! Calling it a classic makes me smile too.

Thank you so much for the review!

Yeah, I know I am late to the party but I heard many good things so I decided to try it, despite being an Rm2k3 fanboy (not because of the system, I mean for the graphics! I found hideous the chibi charsets and the assets). Well I especially love the stories, characters and lore, and I believe that in the past as a player I was probably more fond of rpgmaker battles and combat (I mean at least 10-12 years ago!), now I see them as "time wasters" and I enjoy more the narrative.
I'm getting old lol.

Legend of the Silverstone [2k3][DynRPG][25h] Review

Hey thanks for the review :) Glad you somehow liked it. Nice to see some people still find this old project! Dunno if the download is even still working or not xD
Yeah I guess the project will probably never be finished as this 30h demo only showed ~40% of the plot and I have kids and I'm working full time but you never know :) (If you're interested in how it would have ended I can provide you with the rest of the story)
Also I'm working on a commercial game (spiritual predecessor of this game) which hopefully will be ready for a demo on steam in the next years :) Maybe if I put this on kickstarter and people like it I find some coworkers and get it done quicker. Furthermore I start a new work in march where I earn double the money so maybe I get so lazy that I just pay some people to do the tedious mapping xD

Oooh good news! Anyway yes, the download worked here but I know this game is also archived on rmarchiv.net that has almost all german games. Nice I'd quite curious about what happens later even if I had my theories. Of course!

Crimson Mind Review

Thank you for the review! It's pretty fun to look back on this one and see how people experience it! I definitely remember having fun making this one as the short one it is and definitely remember the things you said were weak being weak (damned groceries Lol and the combat scenario you virtually do nothing in).
I feel shameless for doing this but I feel like its unavoidable.
I'm remaking this game as a tie-in to the other 2 games I've made after this, essentially fleshing out the questions that are pretty much left unanswered by the end of this and also overhauling a lot of character development.

https://rpgmaker.net/games/10954/ - If you want to check it out. It's taking quite a while for me to finish but a demo is definitely out. If It piques your interest the other 2 games of the trilogy are on steam!

Cool. Now I am curious. Well I should check Crimson Light probably too!

Spudposal Review

I found a game ending bug that caused the game to freak out. When I fell off the side of the tree I actually got stuck inside of the leaves on one of the lower branches. Though if that's a repeatable issue or not I'm not sure since I didn't try to get it to happen a second time.

Lol I hated only that part since I fell for more than a couple of times... still that never happened to me! I hope you did that on purpouse since I'd have been annoyed! Sigh

Last Minute Gift Review

I'm a big fan of this game. Offers something that's not super common in RPG Maker games. Has great environments, a nice level of challenge. Just a sweet, compact treat. :) <3

Edit:
Graphically the style of the game recalls one of the previous games by Unity I reviewed, Quest Questers (even if this game is far simpler, less comple both for gameplay and story), and it's not a case because some of the maps from that game were originally made for this game, but also other assets are the same, like for example the chests.

That's the "unity RTP" coming through ;P Very useful to have your own RTP in short event occasions! Hehe. :D

Yes yes! For some reason I've never noticed it before but I was specifically searching for... Christmas games!
Niiiiice cute graphics indeed!

Oathguard Review

I tried to figure out what to say in response to this review but all I can muster under the influence of alcohol is: Thank you. Thank you for acknowledging this work's existence and therefore acknowledging my own existence as well. This makes me want to work on the continuation of Oathguard, my own life's magnum opus; if only I could break away from the false bonds of the corporeal.

YAY! I'm thankful for playing this gem since too many cool rm2k and rm2k3 (complete and demos) are unavailable and that's really a pity. Some of these old games are really cool and sadly I discovered them too late! Sigh.

Stickdude Goes to Hell Review

Did you find the game breaking bug in this game? Since I don't think it was ever updated to fix it.

Oh no! I have to check your review then. Sadly it took me so much to make it run that I speeded through it. Well, not that there is much to do anyway.

Aaaa, thank you so much for the review! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the game ^^! I'm really glad you liked the art and story because I spent probably the most time on them (and mini games, making them in RPG Maker was quite a challange XD).
Sooo thanks, this review made my day ^^! Its the first one I received haha~

Yeah! Second (that maybe it's not very surreal, still I liked it a lot) and last chapter were my favourites. I know Rpgmaker is not great to do the action parts, I was not fond of the battles against the robots and the circus final part (sometimes due bad luck I was trapped and hit, no matter what) while the rest was pretty much cool and enjoyable!

Jingle Gates

cool game! Review sent, probably one of Waldorf's best games (at least for me, of course!)

ONYX

author=Yeaster
That would be amazing. Thanks! An updated demo of Vanity 2.0 has already been uploaded, jsyk. =P

I know, I am constantly dying at the boss in the mansion, he has a pooooowerful attack. But I will win as soon as I find a cool strategy, I'm getting better. Btw I liked the changed.

And yes, like for Three the Hard Way I've to remade some old reviews that were pretty bad lol.

author=Yeaster
The boss battles in Onyx v2.0 are much more tolerable. Many of them are susceptible to a particular status abnormality. So you can exploit the hell out of their weaknesses.

Cool. I do not need to say that probably, but I'm waiting for it. I must say that Onyx is my favourite (together with Onyx 2 ofc) for setting, story and characters.
