Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II

Remedies cure Stop, but Esuna doesn't!
Zero Bells and certain armor prevent stop. Note that you can't walk out of the final dungeon to get more, though! No one ever remarks on it in game text, but right before the bit with the 3 doors, you just can't walk backwards to the previous screen...

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II

Anyone with X-Magic is, if you find an X-Mastery materia. Even moreso if they can equip a Nirvana staff... That's how I eventually ended things, though my replacement never outleveled Izulde.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II

I didn't get the teleporter either. But if you go to, say, Mysidia, you can then go to Zen. Not sure why you can't directly.
@garitharwen: I'm not answering that :P Just don't neglect Izulde in anticipation of getting a better healer back. You'll need him (or Loxley, I guess) for a long time.

About Lysha:
I originally found her in Faluhd castle, on the 3rd world map. She said she'd meet Silas on the Airship. She did not. Possibly she was there on the 1st world map, this was the way to get her as an airship vendor, and I missed her? After doing that, for some reason, she moved to Mistwalker Post (a cave system that used to have a lot of dead people in it - including before I thought to revisit Faluhd on the 3rd map.) Inside one of the otherwise empty buildings. There, she offered to join, and did.

The Atma Weapon:
I don't remember exactly where - an early game weapon, somewhere in Lenadia. I know I found it not long after Silas joined. I'm afraid it might have been in the Aether Mine Caverns, which means you're SOL - they're locked off late game. There are 3 'Atma Fragments' - I think also all in Dungeon chests. I don't remember exactly where either, but the 3rd isn't until the 3rd world map.

About Kappa:
Neat, that's where I was going to look tonight. I'd reasoned out - maybe incorrectly :p - from the character page that he was somehow the ship's captain we left for dead ... and that the Necropolis made sense as a place to look (also just about the only place I hadn't tried yet...)

About the ???? Character:
The one I see labelled "????" - the woman with purple hair - isn't optional at all, it's just that her identity is a major spoiler. You'll get her eventually - not long after finishing Odin's task, in fact. Other than Kappa, Lysha, Twill, and Loxley there is a 5th character it is optional to finish the game with ... make sure you actually inspect Zephyr's sister's tomb, and then talk to the seer in Rivera, to get started. One item she requests, the Dark Matter, cannot be found until almost the end of the game.

About Varanodons:
Right outside his house. But not until an event changes the world map encounters permanently. Afterwards, he wants Star Dust. Anybody know? And if I keep helping him, does anything significant come of it?

Things that I do not think actually exist:
A NPC in Cornelia talks about Lukahn's Laboratory to the West. Removed?
After a major cataclysmic event, Vera has a line about "Orilon's Master, Malacore *and Omicron* fighting ... far as I can tell, Omicron otherwise got retconned out of the game.
Emperor Alduin gave me a key to a chest in his quarters - but the guard won't move away from the door.
A use for the Desert Lotus - 20 Rosetta Stones from Visage. Crafting? Somewhere? Or just a mythology gag to the similiarly expensive and useless(?) one from BP1?
King Vale seems to suggest the Diamond Weapon or similar is still out there. Slaying Shinryu suggested he was the herald for someone. Is there a superboss I missed?

EDIT: And I won! 55 hours in.
About the Ending:
Well - I certainly wasn't expecting that. Might it have been different if I didn't off Shinryu - or would the final boss have just been even more of a Giant Space Flea from Nowhere? Even abusing the heck out of the Raven Twins, he was quite the luck-based challenge - principally because a) I needed to use ribbons b) Ribbons don't block stop for some reason and c) was reluctant to use Megaelixirs and d) After unlocking the Rift Shrine, I had just said 'screw it, Moogle Charm time', and level 60 wasn't really enough for everyone to survive some attacks.

I managed to find the Dark Matter probably as you were posting. And what to do with it. Fun! I guess what you find at Mohamdal Junction was supposed to be the pyramid? No dice here; maybe only on the first map? I did find out that the blacksmith would upgrade my atma weapon though; and that he'd come to the garrison. The only thing I found near Vilaheim was Edric's weapon; I'm guessing that's what you meant? And I'm still looking for Kappa - would he be the friend you meant?

One last comment - I acquired, um ... something ... from the Miasma Stream. The, uh, thing that's going to open the Balmag Subterrane. Emperor Alduin ought to be very, very interested in it. But he still spouts the same line telling me to go see Bahamut. Boo.
That's a good point. I actually intended for there to be some banter with that if you went back to Alexandria, but I must have forgotten about it. Not really a mandatory thing to add, but it might be fun to stick in there.
Addendum: I got the banter on returning to the third world map. I was given a key to the Emperor's quarters. The guard out front won't move though, even though I was promised a nice heirloom. Am I doing something wrong, or bug?

And I'm still searching for that Dark Matter. I'm hoping I really couldn't have taken my ... expected reward ... to the 2nd world map. Searching around again now that the airship is back under my control... for that matter, looking at the class portrait, searching for two more characters, one red, one green...

EDIT: Hey, I found the Dark Matter. That dungeon mark kinda blended into the ice, had no idea it was there. Neat reward. And fight.
Another ... bug? ... though. I also found
Lysha
- who told Silas she'd meet him back on the airship. In a word, she didn't; I can't seem to find her again?
Finally, what is potentially a major bug: If you enter the basement of the Berona Research Facility on the 3rd world map - you exit again on the first world map. With no way to return.

My game crashes in Necropolis when I try to play tetra master, here is the error:

Script Game_Interpreter line 1409: NoMethodError occurred.
undefined method size for nil:NilClass

Just to confirm: I got exactly this same bug. And I have had no trouble with Tetra Master anywhere else; even leaving to play with the hummingway down the highway still leaves the bug.

I dunno man, I hate harping on it, but enemies have so much health that if characters aren't doing 12,000+ per attack I consider them virtually useless. Sapphire is nowhere near that, damage wise, and brings nothing else to the table. Maybe if I grind her she'll start doing that, but tier-3 magic and late game summons are doing it out the gate.

Since we're still talking about Sapphire - she reminds me of my FF14 miqo'te ninja, so I really want to like her :P - I discovered that giving her the dual-wield materia and the genji glove does indeed let her do 12000+ an attack. She might even be the best choice to give that combo to; Jasmine doesn't need it ; and a lot of characters have better things to do than attack. Silas would be an obvious choice, but he's way too slow; so would Bolt - but his secondary skills are even worse than hers. Trigger maybe, but I haven't really levelled him, nor do I currently possess a 2nd decent gun...

Neither of those are missable, don't worry. I'd have to take a peek to see where the dark matter is again if you're completely stumped on it.

Well - I guess you mean not missable as in "not in a one-time dungeon" or something; I almost walked by the chest with the candle in the Crystalline Grotto, and almost failed to talk to the Lenadian NPC with the Wings... at least it sounds like the answer isn't "Steal it from Ozma" like in FF9. (But it's not in Odin's dungeon, like I'd expect from FF8... unless it's down those stairs that don't work :P)

One last comment - I acquired, um ... something ... from the Miasma Stream. The, uh, thing that's going to open the Balmag Subterrane. Emperor Alduin ought to be very, very interested in it. But he still spouts the same line telling me to go see Bahamut. Boo.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II

Encountered 2 probably bugs:

- As far as I can tell, *NOTHING* is immune to Zephyr's Blackflight summon - every boss I encountered tonight was fully susceptible to its Demi. I hit a certain climactic boss for 125,000! This is almost surely a bug, right?

- After downloading 1.03, I was able to accepted hunt marks. Finally - the first 5 or so died in a few hits, and it wasn't until #9 that there was a serious challenge. But when I accepted #10, Anima, I was told he was "somewhere near Neirbrook" - he's not. No tile visible; and I walked over every tile that could conceivably be considered nearby. Nothing. A bug? Not unlocked til the story progresses? I reverted to the save before I accepted mark#10.

A question: After putzing around through the world for awhile, I found that I could really use some Dark Matter. Um ... anyone know where it is? Or can you at least let me know by what point in the game I should have it? I found the other two items almost by accident - and I'm worried I missed the Matter somewhere. Especially since it was listed second, before the Candle.

And an observation: I don't know if there's an infinite supply of them coming up, but for Bahamut's sake, anyone reading this, make sure you bring Bolt along to the
rematch with Ixion
. He can steal a Dualwielder Materia. Give that and a Genji Glove to anyone, and they're suddenly attacking 4 times, all of them significantly stronger than their regular attack...

3. Sapphire - Her abilities are basically level 1 x-magic that require items. This would be fine, if not for the fact that Hautley learned his versions in the single digits and Saphhire is still working on learning these past lv. 20, after Hautley is working on Fire/Ice/Bolt 2. Her other item based abilities are also generally underwhelming because they require a big stack of items for generally ho-hum damage/effects. She finally gets decent after the Forest of Zen bit.

I'd actually disagree quite strongly on this. Sapphire is more than twice as fast as Hautley; meaning that even if it was her ninja "X-Fire1" versus his real "X-Fire2" she might be competitive; but her ninja abilities appear to scale off something else as well (Speed? Vigor?); while her level 15 self was pathetic, even by level 20 she was often outdamaging the real mage spell-by-spell. And her only competition for physical attack damage right now (just cleared Horseman's Rest 30 hours in) are Jasmine-with-2-gauntlets, or whoever's wielding the (double-attacking) Atma Weapon.
I'd pretty much agree with the ratings of other characters; anyone naturally slow is not a good choice. Carina made a better black mage than Hautley too, if you fed her the tomes. Completely agree about Zephyr/Reiner being useless for much of the game, though my Zephyr is (finally!) starting to receive some boosts appropriate for the game's main character to have.
