Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II

I ran into similar glitches on my playthrough, Cjb413.
Other than when I used a character from the bonus content (see the previous page), it caused no issues at all, other than briefly taking me out of the game.

(Also, RetroFanatic - it *is* right there, but you can't enter until a major plot event changes a lot of things on the world map. For that fight - uh, I didn't have any major issues. But then my general strategy focused on out-speeding the enemies; I considered Edric and Hautley to be *godawful* characters because of how slow they were. Maybe try a different party if you have a save where you can?)

Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening

Kanajana - that bit you saw about "6 being first" is important too, and about to be Lost Forever. (I in fact didn't find it until my second playthrough).

You know that one crawling monster who asks if you should go North or West, and then he says which is in each direction in Eldritch Speech? ... go look to the west. Very, very carefully.

Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening

Well, the game told me to post if I made it to
Neo Vinculum

and since no one else on RNM seems to have, here we are.
It was a wild trip; I even played it a second time to get all the Eldritch Speech translated~!

I never would have found it without reading your hints on itch.io on what to do with the Blue Mask, or encouraging me to keep searching the mines. And while I beat everything else on Nightmare - with little difficulty after the first boss even - I simply couldn't handle the boss at the bottom of Makyo, even with the power of Neo. Well, until I turned the difficulty down. That was... quite the alternate ending :P

Anyway, thank you very much for a great two weeks! (And for that matter, another great week a few years back with Luxuraen Allure~)

Umbral Soul

Heh. I held off a replay for over a year.
And then when I gave in, my hard drive (with the game on it) permanently died, about 5 hours in.
... maybe it's about time to stop re-holding off, though?

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy

Oh. Really sorry to hear about what happened to Blackmoon Prophecy 3. I was looking forward to trying it out!

Also sorry my last comment on this game might have come off a little harsh? In the final blog post, it might be worth mentioning that you're aware the earliest parts of the game are a little unbalanced, but that things even out by Lenadia? It might reassure anyone willing to give the game a try, but put off by the first few hours.

Everlong

Oh, thanks for fixing it, it worked!

I've played your game partway through twice in the past. Um ... the first time there was still Osama, and I stopped a little after getting the airship. The second was maybe two years ago; I think I made it almost to Atlantis, but my hard drive broke and took my save game with it. But with the COVID, and some non-COVID health issues, I've been going back and playing a lot of these; and this was one of the few that was better than I remembered it. Keep it up!

EDIT: For what it's worth, I think a puzzle in the Tomb of Khaer Magus may be broken? The one where you're supposed to assemble 5 white blocks to make a bridge, moving on horizontal and vertical lines, and there are also spikes and crystals. The upper-left block doesn't respond to any of the movers. Either it's broken, or I *really* don't understand the puzzle.

Everlong

There's something very wrong with the Expirius battle in Atlantis.
Every time I reduce him to 0 HP, he instantly revives with 1HP.

It doesn't seem to matter how fast or how slow I beat him. I tried refraining from using Keen's throwing weapons (which seem to mess with death scripts); tried setting the scaling so I kill him on the first attack; tried with different party members; tried not buffing myself or debuffing him; tried allowing myself to lose; tried sitting there defending for 15 minutes; tried going back to see if the legendary equipment was ready in case it was somehow needed.

Absolutely nothing worked - he just keeps instantly reviving with 1HP.

Any ideas?

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy II

I found a fairly serious bug. The game doesn't take kindly to putting Jossley on point during conversations; I guess because no character-specific messages were written for her. (I renamed her if it matters.)

The two that seriously broke things: first, Gau has no reaction whatsoever if she speaks to him on recruitment, lamb chops or no. Worse, if Jossley's on point when first entering the Rift Cave, the conversation with King Vale loops infinitely, forcing a restart.

(I also never figured out how to get the key from Palumpu Station to enter Swordsman's End. I'm just told that 'Galvus' has it, but I was never able to find Galvus, before or after the world map change.)

Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass

Your review made me realize that the game did not once call them ZomBEEs, even though they clearly were.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy

FWIW, I just replayed this due to COVID.

The Archaerons on the boat are the hardest bosses in the game - even edging most of the optional superbosses - due to the way elemental magic is still frighteningly strong in the early game. My strategy was to grind until Elina learned X-Cure, and to turn the imbalance against them using Fire, White, and Ifrit enough that she only had to cast it once.
