If you look at the official art of the characters, both Boche and Rand are significantly larger than the other characters. This was intentional.

Would you be referring to the addition of EX turns? =)

I loved that about BoF IV, but at the same time, I think if it were implemented in this game, it would unbalance it terribly. Enemies don't have the inflated statistics that some BoF IV enemies had. Also, a lot of enemies in BoF IV required special actions to break defenses or deal decent damage. I'm all for refining the systems to be more useful, but at the same time, we don't want to change TOO much of what made BoF2 what it was.

Also, team positions available!

Database entry is completed already, with new items, weapons, armor, and accessories added. Currently, we are using MP3 format tracks from the game's original sound version. We would love to have someone arrange some new mixes of the original tracks, though.

If anyone is interested in doing that, I can forward along a .zip of the game's complete soundtrack.

It was also used as the cover for the GBA release, if I'm not mistaken.

It is a remake. The story is the same. However, the original translation of the game was terrible at best. We're looking for a few writers to help make the game's dialogue more coherent. There is a fan translation available, but many liberties were taken with the script, so we don't want to rely on that for a base.

Addressing concerns over Windowskins colors

I personally took the colors right from the original game to create the gradient used in the windowskin. Also, those are opaque windows in your example. The game will not feature opaque windows.

Regardless, we have a solution: at the start of the game, the player can choose the window color, but will not be able to change it unless Win (Locker changes house colors, my mistake there) is invited to live in Bateson Township.

We're all for adding functionality, but we don't want to cut anything that was in the original game as well.

*sigh* Nobody reads the image descriptions...

The battle system will be the classic turn-based Breath of Fire battle system as it is in the original game. This screen's purpose was to show that the character statistics are exact to the SNES version. If you compared your stat increases at a level up to the SNES version, they are exactly the game.

The game will use the SNES game's algorithm's to the best of our knowledge, and a big thanks to Ben Siron for his guide that provides most of that information.

Yes, the map is an exact copy from the original game. To cut down on production time, the team isn't going to re-draw the tilesets or character sets. They will be the originals.

Breath of Fire II: The Fated Child (XP)

Regarding the pink: The colors are taken directly from various menu colors used in the original game. There will be other window color variations, as there were in the original (original, blue, green, orange, etc.)

The room is shaped like North America.
