[Event] Golden Age of Game Mak
I miss the regular events where an odd theme was revealed at the start and you can tackle it from any way.

If you think Fire Emblem is bad about padding
I don't, there's only that forest level in one game and that plains level in the other..
But yeah, I actually liked Shining Force too, but forcing you to move a specific unit at a time (you can't cycle) and making you move by walking around a flashing L1 Normal Distance Area gets annoying. I remember the Sega CD one being the least annoying and having the most content, but I never finished it. Shining Force II was also incredibly grindy.
I really don't know if I like the Shining Force series or not. I dig the epic YM2612 FM synth soundtracks, but it is safe to stick with the Sega CD version in terms of gameplay.

Is there some completed game (not a tech demo) you would recommend to people that would impress people? Because almost all the games under the (best rated) link look like MS paint newgrounds entries. You mentioned issues with your website, so you should pick the best game, the "killer app" and show it off.
Also in the "3D", the sprites standing up tilt at the camera and it doesn't look good. Seeing as the "3D" is reserved for the paid version, I can only ask if it is possible to set them to camera-oriented mode like on the SNES.

Same with games like Fire Emblem which are essentially very similar in gameplay from stage to stage.
No they're not. In fact, Fire Emblem is one of the games where (almost) each stage is a unique and memorable scenario. From that hostage situation where one of the enemy cavaliers decides to join you to the romp through the volcano. There's always something new the stage throws at you. It does fall short sometimes with those padding stages where its just a bunch of enemies and 2 pairs of reinforcements through several stages of the same chapter. The game tries to involve you in each chapter's conflict as the battle unfolds and events occur.
You can have fun grinding for hours on end if you feel the pay-off is worth it and it doesn't bore the ever-loving hell out of you. I mean, how else do you explain games where grinding is the main draw?
I can explain how they became obsolete with newer games having much less grinding in them, various MMOs constantly accelerating their XP rate over time, etc.
It doesn't matter how good the gameplay is, if it gets repetitive it starts to overstay its welcome. If the game is short enough, "it was as long as it needed to be" is usually the response.

I Googled but it doesn't look like there's a demo.
Therefore all I can go on are the videos and screenshots and stuff. There's several action RPG kits for Unity, one of them is like $30 and it's based on Unity so there's a large amount of robustness and horsepower on top of it all. The videos, screenshots and stuff for GG Maker don't look very good at all.

[GM] Respawn enemies? Or savor a clean field?
Except FE introduced enemies that respawn on maps because the way it was set-up was deemed annoying and silly. You have so many characters and only a limited amount of grinding that you can do, so they allowed you to grind more by adding the Arena (so many good characters lost :< ) and respawning monsters.
You mean like Sacred Stones? That took all the tension and difficulty straight out of the game when you can just grind and eliminate the point of strategy. The Radiant Dawn game for the Wii was probably the best example of a long game with finite (but a ton of) enemies. That game made me think carefully about my every move. True Fire Emblem isn't for everyone, so that is probably why they made it more like an ordinary RPG in the latest games to widen audience. The 3DS one wasn't bad, but it lacked all the tension because you could just turn the difficulty down. Its like if Dark Souls had an easy mode.
If strategy isn't important and you just want the player to explore, why not go the Mystic Quest route and cram reloading enemy spots into everywhere off the beaten path? That's the only thing good about the game I liked- the bizarre static enemy spots were placed around the maps according to level design and (in theory) you could think about the enemies you should defeat first. Unfortunately the oversimplicity of the game made it so you'd just run into all the encounters while mashing buttons repeatedly, making it all dull.
I really liked enemies as a resource, which is odd since I'm putting respawning enemies in LandTraveller, a game all about resources. It would be terrible to have limited enemies because it can be a multiplayer game and someone could go around stealing all the kills. In some game designs, they must respawn. But usually, it is for games like A Link to the Past where you aren't grinding and are defeating enemies simply because they're trying to stop you.

Yeah! You tell them it's how you do things and if they want to play the game, then shut up and get over it, because that is way more fun!
Well what do you know, someone reads too fast and misinterprets what I wrote as the complete polar opposite. Another day on the Internet.
This just in, making good games is hard!
He said "I want something truly as easy as the RPG Maker series of software.", not that he wants a magic make the game for you button or anything.
