Nostalgia Engine
Turns out even if you put a single quad into a display list and spam that, it still improves performance by 20% for the above perspective tile map situation.

(+ general public resources or resources you create yourself or RTP, to fill gaps)!
If you want to get excessively pedantic, you can use RTP if you're filling gaps. However, a lot of people (including myself) are drawing generic RPG themed materials for the previous MOG:G event so there won't be many gaps there.
M.O.G. Graphics
Well, I did begin on the clothes for the characters.
It's the male version of the adventurer outfit, but she actually looks kind of good in it:
The upper part is colorable, I haven't done recolorable clothing before (it can go from yellow to another color).

It'll go back to the 2D isometric I had before since I'll be using the RPG 20XX engine, although people may ask why RPG 20XX doesn't also use the 3D tileoid system shown here. All I can reveal at this point is "that is an interesting question".
The character compositor in RPG 20XX is the final iteration from all these prototypes and is superior to the one I made shown here. It lets you edit character events and player characters similar to shown above. I have plans to assign items to specific character parts so that armor and such can show up on a character.

I'm specifically going to limit myself to materials made during the graphics and soundtrack event to see what happens, it's more interesting that way. I don't know about sound effects, though. I might have to make those myself.
RPG 20XX Engine
Could it be interesting if RPG 20XX can import RPG Maker 2003 games?
Could it? It would be interesting. However, I don't have plans to add the ability to import RPG Maker 2003 projects at this time. RPG 20XX is too different from RPG Maker 2003.
Being compatible with the old format would strain the design making it harder to add useful features, and it's what killed the old RPG Maker 20XX project.
The goal here is to be similar to use and easy to use, that someone familiar with RPG Maker 2000/2003 could pick it up easily, but it is actually its own RPG creation toolkit from the design of the editor's interface right down to the engine itself.
Revive the Dead
I've had to prepare for something else this week and I haven't gotten a chance to even do the small thing I was planning as a minimal release, so I'm out of this one completely now.
I'll be focused on MOG:G since the deadline is perfectly timed and I've already got something. I can guarantee a release for that.
