Perhaps this was the reason for the changes in the GBA version. A shame, really, because if they had kept the feel of the game and didn't change the music so much, and worked more on their expansion of the story, the GBA could have been much better than it was.

Exactly! The GBC version of the game had some horrible music. I love the NES version because of its originality, soundtrack, and story. But, the other version was not my cup of tea.

Adventures in Tetris Land
Make a puzzle where you have to make blocks from the roof fall to the floor, and the piece fits right in to make lines(a la tetris), which makes the floor disappear and you can fall in to a new path of the level

That is also a good Idea:) I will have to do that!! That way if you get to a new path, you can play a section from another game. I have plans on making a Mario section too where you collect coins or something.

I just realized that was mega man. xD

Kind of reminds me of one of the cyberspace levels in Pulseman.

I never got around to playing pulseman yet, but after playing the first few levels, it did seen interesting. The level designs of pixel palace will resemble that character. For example, If I make a Pac-Man level, then it will have all those turns built into it.

That's a good idea!! I am making a pixel world filled with several 8-bit Icons such as Mario, Mega Man(as seen above), Pac-Man,and several others. Tetris will likely appear now since you mentioned it. Thank you Kentona;)

I may have a way of keeping the quick recovery if I can plan it out correctly. Give me about 5-10 minutes to put the sheet together. I would've had it done earlier, but my brother was working on Dragon Quest +, so I'll post it in a few minutes.

I will send you an updated engine link soon. What I need is the characters. Would you like me to upload the sprite sheet tonight or later on in the week? About the invincibility period, now when you get hit nothing will happen except effects and damage, so you can go through enemies and stuff, but they will be harder. After taking damage, you will blink for about a second and be vulnerable again like most 2D games. So there will be no more quick recovery and getting stuck:)

Cool:) I have made more new tile-sets so I can start making new levels. I have the updated Desert, Ice Palace, Jungle, Ruins, Volcano, Sky Temple, and Pyramids. I was originally going to make 7 worlds, but I believe there will be more than that. Also, I got a character selection system working along with refined gameplay. It feels really smooth now. Before, Lydia was a bit floaty, but now she is heavier and I also added an invincibility period.

New arrow skill update

This is very impressive!! How do you create those? I've always wanted to lift pots and stuff like that. Do you think it would be cool if all 4 Lufia Creators made a Lufia engine and put it up for download?

It would have weapons (As shown here) and a puzzle engine. If we could create a default engine with all the basic functions of a lufia game and ll of our names in the credits for the engine, that would be fantastic!

Dekar_The_Great could do puzzles, you could make weapons, I could work on the battle system, and Kiren could do mapping or something. But, we are all good at many things in Rpg maker, so we could offer what we could do.

Anyway, good job on this and I look forward to the first demo.

Interesting that they all chose to use RM2k3 to make their games ...
Lufia V actually started as a RPGmaker2k game, but I later ported it to 2k3... the game's battle system was drastically altered as it was once a turn based game and now features an ATB system.

If I could port the game to RpgmakerXP or higher, I definitely would, but unlike 2k -> 2k3, I would basically have to remake the entire game, and that is not something I'm willing to do at this point.

However, if I DO make a sequel to Lufia V (which I have all planned out) it will most likely be in XP or higher.

So, RPG maker 2000 allows you to make non-ATB battle systems? I did not know that. Its been a while since I updated Lufia VI because of school and computer issues, but that has all been resolved at this point. I can start working on Lufia VI, but It will be easier if I create the characters first.
