FANTASIA: Next Direction

This is going in an excellent direction.
Though as for the dash thing, I still highly suggest a button that toggles between running and walking.
I forgot to mention that. I'll consider that instead of the tap to dash. Maybe it was better when I had the running button.

Couldn't agree more. But, like you said, you have to think about what to do before you make a move. If you see fish coming out of a pit, shoot them, then move.
I'm not disappointed though. There is a blog that shows the list I made before the this demo came out.

Is it a crime to use Final Fantasy Music? I can use whatever music I like thank you! Besides, I already removed this yesterday.
I could write a huge comment going back and forth with this, but I 'm more focused on improving the game, not arguing about every little thing. Some things Link_2112 said are nit picky, but some of the other comments are true. I already know that though. Trust me, I've played more games than most people expect and I have a list of things I need to fix (Blog above). Sound effects? Come on!
I test my game all the time! so I know when I encounter a glitch such as getting stuck. The same things happened to me while playing. Also, everything in the HUD is necessary! You HAVE to know how much time you have left! Have you even played Super Mario Bros? The time is up there at all times! There is nothing wrong with the HUD at it's current state. However, score will have to go because there is no use for it.

I agree, walk and slah is better than stopping to slash.
Also, if you wnat to make the soinning slash more useful, Xbuster, you should make it so it does an obscene amount of damage and Lydia just plows through what she hits while doing it.
Yeah, I could do that. Thanks for the feedback! That's why it's so fun developing this game. I get to change the bad and transform it into good. I'm not disappointed. I can take both good and bad comments. Keep in mind that nothing is final yet. This game is just getting started.
However, the spin slash has to be weak, otherwise, it would be too easy. In MegaMan ZX advent this ability is meant to be rapid, but weak. You can't make an attack both rapid and strong. I want this games difficulty to be harder than the normal platform game and MegaMan is the perfect game to inspire me to do so. I just got done beating that game on Expert mode by the way. There's still plenty more to fix in this game. Most of the time I know what to fix before the users notice.
The thing is, I base abilities off of MegaMan games and such. Running and slashing is indeed in the plan, but I'm a beginner in game maker, so I just can't do it immediately. But, when I find out, I will add it.

Okay, it is SO freaking fun hurting Lydia. The sound effect of her dying makes me laugh whenever it happens.
Also, it would be nice to be able to slash while moving.
I have to admit, it is pretty hilarious hearing that "Agggghhhhh!" every now and then XD
Often times I die on purpose just to hear it.
I was planning on making a running slash. But, I base every character's gameplay style from another existing character.Lydia's main gameplay character is from the Monster World games( you can only slash while standing). However, her spin slash is modeled after Zero from the MegaMan X franchise.

Do you mean Seaside Coast Act 1? That jump can indeed be made. I forgot to remove the run sign because I removed the running function. Now, it feels natural and you can focus on moving better. I tested the game and all the levels are possible to complete. But, if it's hard to make that jump, I'll fix the level.

Hey, when you get hit by a coconut when standing next to a ledge your character doesn't stop flashing and the game doesn't continue.

I encountered that problem as well. I'm fixing it and will add a blog about it again. And yes, you can submit more than one. Actually, you can submit as many characters as you want. I won't use them all, but I will use a handful of them.

I would change the text's and sword's color because a blue and white gradient is already used for the sky.
If you take a look at title screens from Popful Mail or Valis games for instance, the text's palette is usually similar to the main character's clothes and hair.
I would therefore opt for red, grey or pale purple, which are the main colors of Lydia's outfit.
Just suggesting ;)
Good thinking. I've played both of those! I'll fix that before the next demo is accepted.
