Not sexy when it's raining and your hair has decided that it wants you to cosplay as Hermione from Harry Potter, and no amount of product or flat ironing is going to make it any better.
Not sexy in summertime when it's getting all tangled up in your necklaces and sticking to your skin because it's too damn humid and hot and you just showered like two hours ago but you still feel like the grossest person alive.
Not sexy when you're making out and it gets into your mouth.
In fact, there are times I feel like I'm physically drowning in my own hair and a ponytail is the only thing that makes the pain go away : (. At least I don't have to wait long to see my stylist, it'll be nice to have shorter hair again.
It is hard to be a girl. Boys make fun of girls for being vain and shallow about their hair, but then turn around and say stuff like "why don't you wear it down and look sexy?" Bah.
Edit: My pet peeve is my stupid hair. :P

I'd like to ask how all of you independent trailblazers afford to eat, and what kind of food you buy, and if you don't mind, how much you spend on food.

I'm a trustfundafarian so I can't really help you out in terms of practicality... my biggest suggestion though just in terms of looking at sheer prices, is to go out and spend maybe 200-250 on groceries once a month, eat for a month on that, go out to restaurants ON OCCASION, and make use of leftovers. : ) It seems to be cheaper to cook for oneself rather than go out to eat, and use store-brands, 'cause they're the same as name-brands.
Also, if you have friends/girlfriend in the area, MOOCH LIKE HELL. There's absolutely nothing wrong with going over to mom and dad's for dinner once in a while... they'd probably be happy to see you, and hey, free food. : )

This is good advice fundamentally, but it's hard to gauge. Damn it!
Well it's more like, if you ARE planning on marrying her, then before you guys tie the knot, you should live with her to ensure that you guys aren't gonna be at each other's throats 6 months down the line.
Actually, I read something in Psychology Today that this is actually harmful to a marriage. A greater percentage of folks who live together before they're married end up getting divorced. This seems to be because once people are living together, they feel pressure to get married and stay together to avoid an awkward living situation.
I'd reccommend just living with a buddy or something... that way you know you're together because you like each other, and not because you both need to pay the rent.

You're in NY, right Feld? I know things are pretty pricey there... I'm currently living "upstate" in a subletted place.
Since you're going to be going back to school soon, I recommend subletting for the summer. Surprisingly enough, there are fairly inexpensive places around Westchester county, and probably in the city too... I think I've seen places for 300-400 a month.

Vultan
Description: Also known as "Bird men" they look very simalar to human except for the large wings on thier back which give them the ability to fly. They are very adept fighters known for their speed and strenght in combat.
Attribute Bonuses/Penalties:
+2 Str, +4 Dex, -3 MP, -3 Con
Racial Ability:
Diving Slam:
Allows the Vultan to leave combat for one turn to later attack for 150% damage, cost 4 HP
Flight:
Gives them the ability to avoid ground based traps.
Resistances/Weaknesses:
Resistant against Earth
Weak against Bows
Weak against Wind/Electicity
These are already called the Opteryx. I wonder what Legion will say about the stats, tho. I don't know why you'd make birds, of all things, weak against wind... wouldn't they be more suited to air??
I rescind my desire to do the Animunculus (though they are my favorite race FO REALZ) because I a) do not know anything about doing stats for RPGMaker anything, and b) I don't want to mess with any history I know nothing about.
HOWEVER, here is a description:
The Animunculi are something between walking suits of armor and archaic robots. Machines brought to life, not only are they an incredibly stalwart and sturdy race, but also they are quite pleasant and amiable. Generally, an Animunculus will do as it is told with little quarrel as long as the request adheres to its code of ethics, as they were originally a servant race, and it has been long ingrained in them to be obedient. It is for this reason that they are often taken on as bodyguards, as their honor and fealty are bested only by their superior fighting ability. Now, the Animunculi are without a homeland, and so must make their own way and find new purpose.
They should probably have some strength and con bounuses, and perhaps some difficulty against electricity.
An idea for a potential racial ability would probably be something like from one of my favorite tabletop RPGs, wherein the Animunculi could apply "attachments" to themselves that wouldn't take up armor or weapon slots. Kind of like the Blood Machine murmur murmur. I don't know how annoying that would be to code though, so you can go ahead and pay no mind to lil' old me.

...but supposedly it's one of the best adaptions of the material out there (though probably not the most faithful).
Wait, I don't understand how something can be "the best adaptation" of a given source and be unfaithful to it. This has always been a pet peeve of mine.
In order to adapt something, you need to be true to the spirit of the story, and hopefully to the story itself, AS WELL AS be entertaining.
But, to be fair, Craze, this is hardly the worst thing that's ever happened to Dumas (the worst being Charlie Sheen's Aramis).

had-some-tea-edit: idk what you guys are into but 'spectacular' and 'excellent' might be slight over-reactions to aprilschild's work? I mean yeah it looks pretty alright and is competent but there is a way to go to make it either of those. i think the photoshop-by-numbers effects might be a part of that! it could be a little more subtle in tone, too.
but whatever apparently my critical contributions count for bologna (this is not the only place I have aired my discontent) so I guess you guys are going to make do.
fuck if I could actually contribute anything (since college has me by the balls) so this is not exactly money-where-my-mouth-is. there wasn't that many entries though, so I'm wondering whether you could've waited out to see if anything more fitting came through.

I dunno man, this is pretty harsh... I know my stuff isn't like super awesome fantastic... I just did it for fun to try and get others to participate... but it's kind of shitty to just rain on someone else's parade when you haven't contributed yourself.
I bet you know something about graphic design - if you had such a problem with my stuff, you should have whipped something up to run against me, I bet you'd have won.
But it's really easy to be a critic and hate on someone else's stuff when you haven't put yourself out there. You seem bitter for not winning a contest you didn't even ENTER. The damned thing ran for like, a full month... it wasn't like they didn't give folks time to contribute. Again, if you had such a problem with my stuff, why didn't you make some of your own? There was plenty of time to do so.
I am in college too, and QUITE busy, but I still managed.

Hopefully the mods will forgive this slight bit of thread necromancy, as I just wanted to remind everybody that the deadline for this contest is in six days (May 1st). So if you have any ideas, even if you like aprilschild's (admittedly excellent) designs, let's see them! I am planning on having at least SOME pages have a rotating head banner so you can see your work on the actual site at some point or another.
And again to announce the obvious: Aprilschild won, and her creation(s) will be put up on the site by the time most people read this.
