Juego copia de otros 500 juegos de terror del montón. Como dice bicfarmer, muy lineal y simple. La temática me gusta, pero el juego es un mero tren de la bruja de feria donde todo gira en torno a pasillos y lugares "terroríficos", música ambiental, jumpscares baratos y tener que agarrar una llave que te lleva a otra llave... No se siente nada de tensión ni interés por los personajes (la chica, Kelly, está literalmente de adorno, no habla ni una sola vez).

Además de ello, el juego está lleno de bugs: andar sobre paredes, luces que se quedan prendidas en una transición a otra sala, etc. Al comienzo, si te da por explorar el jardín delantero (antes de entrar en la mansión) te digo desde ya que la cagaste.

También se hace muy engorroso el hecho de tener que acudir al inventario cada vez que tengamos que usar una llave en cada puerta. Es enlentecer el gameplay innecesariamente.

Por último, los finales. Creo que solo hay 2 y en ninguno de ellos nos explican el por qué de nada. ¿Por qué la mansión está cagada hasta arriba de cadáveres? ¿De dónde salen los zombies? ¿Es nuestro amigo Dominic un demonio o algo por el estilo?

Darkest Dreams

Te conocí gracias a "An Evil Night" y justo me topé en los recomendados con este otro. Por estos 2 juegos solamente, he de decirte que me siento muy agradecido de haber podido invertir mi tiempo jugándolos. Y digo invertir, y no echar, o pasar. Porque en tus juegos se puede apreciar algo que poquísimos juegos tienen, y es "alma". Un alma creativa y poderosa, que no solamente te presenta una situación clásica como "mansión encantada" o "escapa de un sitio perturbador con monstruos y demás", no. Estos juegos se notan cargados de un contenido brillante, un genio que muy influenciado por supuesto, ha sabido tejer una obra psicodélica. Todo basado en giros extraordinarios de guión, que despiertan al jugador, cansado de sucedáneos que parecen pisarse entre ellos. Un jugador que disfruta jugando un producto donde, aún con las limitaciones del motor RPGMaker, logra penetrar en su mente, para llevarle a universos de retorcidas historias surrealistas, pesadillescas, y terroríficamente disfrutables.

Poco más tengo que añadir. Solamente animarte a que nunca dejes de crear juegos. Date tu tiempo si en algún momento lo ves necesario, pero por favor, nunca dejes de crear obras maestras.

Nightmare 4 (Fear)

Pointless game. It tries to emulate the idea of Natali's Cube film but fails miserably being a game of trial and error and removing any chance of using the logic or solving a riddle. You work your way through the game without any particular parameters. If you die when you open a door, congratulations! That's not the way, you have to try another one.

It's not fun, it's not scary, it's not interesting. Boring as the best definition.

Ghosted

Abominable and disgusting game. It tries to be a horror game, but it's really just an ugly malformation with jump scares, chases, and a lot of NOTHING.

The story is non-existent, there is no story, why do we wake up in the house? no fucking idea. Why it's haunted? No fucking idea. Why i'm gonna be killed? No fucking idea. We're thrown into a cheap circus house of horrors with nothing to encourage the player. Not just to play, but to become familiar with the character. It has some witty one-liners, yes.

The actual setting of the game is a load of bullshit. It only uses 3 scenarios, and all of them are equally absurdly labyrinthine. The player doesn't have a hard time because he's scared, but because he's sick of having to go through dark corridors for the 25th time.

And to add insult to injury, at the end of the game, you have to do a fucking gymkhana to avoid getting your ass burned. Mission impossible, considering that the game freezes and doesn't recognize directional keys when pressed.

A disgrace that should never have been made.

Dark Mirror

Very short game about the urban legend of Bloody Mary.

The story of the game is simple and basic. The narrative was not as heavy as the author implied, but rather a copy-homage where the only survivor of a massacre tells a policeman what happened. Personally, I don't like this kind of stories, as you know how it all ends (who lives and who dies) as soon as you start. In addition, after 5 minutes of gameplay we already know that everything revolves around a character from an urban legend. So the game becomes a survival slasher.

What I mean by this is that it has no surprise factor, it's not scary, and all the resources it uses have already been seen before. I don't mean by this that it's a bad game, just that it's not bad to pass the time.

Kampong - The Shadow of the Truth

Short little game about a cursed village and a "need-2-escape-from-here younger".

With known references, as the author already shown in the synopsis, it's a classic; the game has a similar idea to SH but without all the soul of that game.
The basic idea of escaping from a ghost town where everything kills you becomes very bold. The game has no difficulty, typical genre enemies, chases, fucked up story, stories of previous people who died where you are and an ending.... with question mark, but also stereotypical.

Good choice to spend time, nothing new, nothing bad.

Wait - Extended

Played this DEMO, the full version is on Steam.

Like the synopsis says, you start playing knowing nothing. You get into the shoes of a guy who knows nothing and, like you, ends up being the victim of a series of strange events that happen in his apartment.

The idea is known to everyone. The way the idea has been taken is interesting. Puzzles are simple, terror is appropriate.

It is captivating and once the demo is over, it leaves you with honey on your lips.

An Evil Night

Camouflaged among so many horror games, An Evil Night (also with a generic name) starts with the classic story to show you a bizarre, strange and meaningless story. Satisfactorily, it changes rhythm again, to offer us an unprecedented raw and mystical history.

In fact, this is a moral, one of those warnings that your parents often told you when you were a child.

Hidden gem of the genre. No jump scares because it doesn’t need them. No FMVs because it doesn’t need them. It doesn’t have an art of characters because it doesn’t need it. The story is his fundamental pillar and it has a lot. let's get down to business. Proof of this is its small inventory, for example.

Everything has a meaning. You have to pay attention to everything, what you see, what you read...
