Is it just me, or are battles where it all goes wrong for RM games?
It depends. If a RPG has no other redeeming qualities, it better have good, interesting battles. However, if it has some other good elements of gameplay (for example: interesting plotline, unique characters, engaging dialogue, excellent graphics and/or sound, sidequests, replay value, minigames, treasure hunting), it can make up for using a default battle system or having battles that have some of the characteristics mentioned by Nullmech. Good RPGs usually have many of these elements present, including decent battles. Whether a player thinks any of these are enough to keep him/her playing, it's something personal.
I think while battles are important and they should be seen as a means to an end, no an end itself. For those interesting in battles exclusively, perhaps playing or making RPGs might not be right for them. Like you said, action games might be more their thing.
Bottom line, maybe it is you!

So will the next release be a whole new chapter or the current release plus more? I do hope we can reuse our saves. Also, will you make some changes to the part you released already or will it stay as is?
I just finished your current release and was thinking about writing a review about. But I think I'll wait for the next one to come out.

You will have to wait for it to be approved. Sometimes it takes a while (even more than a day!).
The error I have seen as well with other games with downloads waiting to be approved when pressing Download Now.

Wow Edchuy that is incredibly helpful. Thank you.
It is somewhat reassuring to find an analysis of this aspect of the game that is not tripping over massive glaring balance issues. The fact that things have the pros and cons I wanted them to have is a relief. Also it was nice of you to take the time to play the game with all seven configs.
Yeah, replaying it made me realize not only the value of the configs, but also that they were a few things that I hadn't tried. A lot of what you can or can't do depends on whether you got lucky or not getting a drop after beating a group or another of enemies.
So much work...
Thanks for sharing, Ephiam. It's nice to hear you're enjoying what you're doing. I wonder how many game developers can say what you said last ... Hopefully you will be able to project that positive energy into your game. Good luck in both fronts!
