When I worked at a restaurant, I almost got fired for wearing grey pants to work and not black. In my current job, I have to wear a dress shirt and khaki pants that match according to the company's guidelines. All I do is work in the stockroom.

People care immensely about appearances. Fact.

This isn't a particularly big deal anyway. The media will give him shit for wearing some dumb shirt, but he'll still have his job and history will still remember him as a badass dude who landed a badass probe on a badass comet.

If he ends up losing his job over this, well, then we'll talk about bullshit.

Normally I'd say it's much ado about nothing, but with another "gate" which I will not mention lest I incur Liberty's ire, there is already a culture war raging. And that this man has been reduced to a groveling, weeping jackass just for his shirt choice, on the day where he should be celebrating like... he's LIFE'S WORK, makes this a big deal. It's just yet another incursion by the SJW psychopaths, who seem to have the backing of big money/power and big media.

I'm just going to say it.

Elements of the left (and I say elements because I know there are liberty-minded leftists, atheists, socialists, etc who find this shit appalling) have replaced the christian conservative right as the moral police, and the censoring assholes. They have strayed so far from what liberalism used to mean and have gone full-on tyrannical. They ruin careers, threaten to ruin careers, lock threads, shut down comment sections, destroy reputations, and create immense tension between the sexes and other demographic categories.

A man dedicated to the scientific advancement of the species should be celebrated, and instead he is shamed. Hypocrisy, bigotry, and double standards everywhere - justified because he's a man, and part of the patriarchy or some shit. Oppressing aspiring young female scientists with his shirt with frankly rather tame, semi-BSDM style pinup art. ...Designed by a female.

It is getting way the fuck out of hand and I'm so tired of it. I hope these crazy moral police-people learn the consequences of overreach soon, the hard way.
