The alternative facts thing is a meme and I believe Kelly fucked that up pretty bad. However, what I cannot believe is that the big issue du jour was the crowd size at the inauguration. Really? Epic facepalm at that. What, do you think you'll somehow discredit the new administration because of some manipulative photos and Kelly stumbling over herself during an interview? Sheesh.
And yes, we will absolutely disagree that the left has not been actively silencing critics. That is a completely indefensible position you hold. IRS targeting conservative groups, lefties disabling comments and likes on any lefty video, shutting down conservative facebook and twitter accounts meanwhile ISIS recruitment sites remain up, arresting people in Germany who disagree with all the Islamic migration, the list goes on and on. Come on man. :(
And yeah, the left has been engaging in 1984 style Newspeak for years. This word is okay one week, not okay the next. "People of Color" is good "Colored People" is bad. There are 3 genders. Now there are 5. Now there are 97. Now gender is completely fluid, even though males are oppressors. Racism's definition has changed to requiring "privilege." And by the way, we determine who is privileged and who isn't. Failure to comply will result in being fired, sued, publicly shamed, etc.
And I don't particularly have much problem with what Trump has done in the 0.5 seconds he's been in office. Do you think media is immune to criticism or something? Just how many sacred cows on the left do we need to slay in the coming years?

Soli, can you try and keep calm and nice? I'm doing so.
You misunderstood me. I was suggesting that those items about which Kentona was complaining have been happening for a while, just not to the left. Now that it's happening to the left, yeah, it sucks don't it?
Again, self reflection needed. Not just throwing tantrums about a loss. There is an opportunity for reform and regrouping. I believe Delita said it best:

I'm cautious, not optimistic. And the pendulum comment very much applies. Push people too hard and they push back. Happening now and that's why you're not happy. Not sophistry - reality. In 4 or 8 years when we elect Anita Sarkeesian, it will swing right back, no worries.
What am I hopeful for? Anything that reduces the negative effects of rampant globalism on every day Americans. He is right to be taking a hard second look at trade deals and supernational agreements. We should be trading more with Canada and less with the Middle East. We should not be racking up massive imbalances with Mexico and East Asia. We should hold NATO's feet to the fire in providing the agreed upon %GDP contribution to defense. We should make the UN irrelevant by pulling out US influence and support. And yes, a border wall seems like a necessary evil. It's not a new concept, and our border with Mexico is so enormous that we could use some logistical help keeping it under control. All of these things seem to be on the administration's radar.
A dream come true would be some sort of ban on foreign real estate investment beyond a 1st home. If you live in China, are rich, and want to buy a home in the US West coast, you can do so only if you intend on living there permanently. There are plenty of people like myself who would love to buy and live in a home in this hyper-inflated real estate markets, but cannot afford it despite being solidly middle class surburban DINKs. (double income no kids) But... this is a pipe dream, because we gotta keep that funny money economy going.
Oh, and hopefully all the white males band together and fire up the gas chambers again to get rid of all the undesirables. Not really, but I might as well believe that considering the meme wars currently happening.
I kinda don't think it matters how well or how terribly Trump performs. Most media and half the country are unwilling to entertain the idea that he will do some good in the world. Minds are made up, eyes are closed. It's sad.

Actually, all I said was that the pendulum has swung. A cautionary tale, perhaps a call for self reflection after a loss.
Unfortunately, seems the "everyone I don't like is Hitler/racist/sexist" meme has only strengthened. That stuff won't help anything or mend any wounds. Sad. :(

Silencing critics, telling lies, 1984-style rulership (elites determining what words can be spoken by the peasants) us versus them, etc, etc.....
Hmm. Pendulum, meet the other side.
This is an opportunity for self-reflection and... wait, that's just not going to happen.

Oddly enough, that was not the process for this particular geography, however, yes it does kinda sorta have the same shapes.
Actually, I focused more on what Earth regions these places would emulate. You can clearly see Northern France / Southern England in the lush, river-y grasslands. The mountainous region to the SE is very much like Persia. And the snowy plateau in the NE definitely has a Scandinavian feel to it. And there is a tiny island between the main continent and the smaller "Britain" continent where a large, London-inspired Steampunk city lies.

Thanks Kaempfer - it's the main in-game world map. Going to serve as a mission hub. This is just the base graphic file, it will have a HUD and icons for objectives when applied.
You've made 2 posts saying the same thing now, so I'm wondering if this problematic to you? I've found that people tend to emulate the shapes and patterns of Earth geography. It's what we know, it's what seems to make sense.

Someone dumped a bunch of snow in the mediterrainean sea to try to stop global warming, and England's heart grew three sizes. But it's close!!!

Same universe as DS2? Map looks similar I think.
Same geography, just more developed, different universe

When do you have too many side quests?
author=Kaempfer
If you look at Morrowind, Caius Cosades straight up TELLS you "GO DO SIDEQUESTS FOR AWHILE" and you actually need to go and do sidequests before you can progress (although there are ways around this, like there are ways around everything Morrowind). In Oblivion you're told "go to X place and meet Y", but you're free to blunder about on your own. The main quest encourages you to close Oblivion gates, its biggest sidequests. It wants you out there, exploring. Skyrim, on the other hand, has story missions like "LET'S RUSH TO THIS POINT AND FIGHT A DRAGON OMG RIGHT NOW" and then you are free to fuck off and loot 9012 tombs. The story missions are almost all structured this way- time is of the essence, let's get to it right now!- which is totally opposing to the meat of the game. In my opinion, the faction related quests (which are almost as in depth as the main story is) are better structured for the reason people play Elder Scrolls. If you have sidequests, they need to compliment your game's style.
I enjoyed reading this. More and more reasons come up as to why, while Skyrim is certainly impressive and fun in its own right, Morrowind is hands down more magical and memorable, even with horrible things like crashes, cliff racers, and inferior graphics/mechanics.
I like my "side quests" to be more like the result of natural play. It's kind of odd to be a specific thing on a specific mission, but then some old lady lost her cat in some village. If the game is supposed to be *that* open world and sandboxy, I guess that's forgivable.
