Reflections before entering the apocalyptic year of 2012
The animations aren't going to be like that right? Frames by themselves are good (you have a really nice technique, love your light/shadows!). But the animation doesn't seems fluid enough. A little "midframes" would smooth it a little.
(Oh well, that's something I need to do too ahah, to smooth my crappy animations ='D).
As for anything else, just makes me more anxious of getting my dirty hands on your gaem! muwahahaha!

Today's lesson: When there's something to guess about, you can do it at random. Sometimes, there's only one contestant, so your chance of "getting higher than 1" raises.

This is a "I'm not the target audience for this game" review. Wither has plenty of those. I'm not saying that it's... err... bad... just that it gets a little... repetitive.

I really don't have any idea. I've not read that much reviews in here, and so I'm not that familiar with the "writing style", not even for the... maybe recurrent reviewers ='D.
But anyway, I'll try to give it a try.

Reason for vote: I like it because of its consistency. I see it like a town preparing for Christmas or something like that. We don't need to have a shot from the Christmas dinner to get the atmosphere.
I also like Dudesoft and AppleninjaX ones. But well, I think that them are a little more "collage", like the things are just put in there. Dunno how to put it, I needed to take a decision.

Hahah! Looks goOO00oo0Ood!! The only thing that bugs me a little are the green/red dots on the water, but yeah, it's not bad anyway!
Final Fantasy Essence Review
author=emmychI thought about a level-based variation too, that affects rates. I mean, when you're Lv1, you get basic encounter rate. At higher levels you get a "reduction" (it can get annoying, though, if you need, say, to get an specific drop or something).
there are only a certain amount of random encounters on a map, and they start to slow down the more you fight them.
author=emmychTha sounds like 7th Saga hahah. It was nice.
Or, it actually is touch encounter, but the enemies are invisible, and you have some sort of on screen compass that points to them.
Also I would like to mention Earthbound. It's not random encounters, but the instant-fight stuff was neat!
