THATBENNYGUY'S PROFILE

I am CashmereCat now.

~~~
Twisted baubles replace my brain and I am toxic yet nice. There's a lot to me, but also not a lot going on up there, they say. PM me because I love attention, I do interviews, I do reviews, I do stuff. Here for the long haul. Gotta hustle.
I'm working on whatever I'm working on, and I love RPG Maker games that aren't traditional RPGs. Puzzlers, interactive stories, but nothing too abstract that'll weird me out. Just give me a polished gem and I'll stare at it for days, marveling at the way the light reflects just right, inner inflections, potato top pie.
I want to make games with you.
Well, for the future: there should be some sort of custom page where it has all the submissions for the contest. Then when you click on each submission you can read it, and give a star rating (max 5) for each category on each submission (romance, comedy, gameplay etc.) and then an overall rating. Then at the end, the results will be averaged up and the winner will be fairly decided.
If you want, I can help create custom pages or whatever with ratings and such to make future contests a more streamlined process. If "mass voting" is the method that you want to decide the winner of the contest. I personally thought judges might be better and more efficient :/
Hm.. this competition seems a bit unorganised to say the least. You said that you'd be the judge of voting and now it's open to the public? I don't really understand and it's a teeny bit unprofessional to be changing the rules during voting, but okay..
I don't think everyone will read every entry, so people at the end of the list have a really unfair disadvantage. I personally think this could've been handled a lot better, but meh.. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves writing their storylines anyhow, regardless of who wins!
I agree with you. I mean, does the organizer expect everybody to read every single story before voting? I certainly wouldn't. I'd probably only have time to read the first quarter of about half of them. On top of that, it's a fairly ambiguous process of voting, with no clear defined rules; there should have at least been a poll or something to standardize the voting. Already the "icythophobia" story is probably going to win simply because it is the first story on the list (I'm not saying that it's not a bad story, but it's more likely to win than the rest). Especially since my story is one of the last on the list, and I put a lot of effort into making it a thrilling and suspenseful concept read. (Rant over)
Good luck to all, and may everyone judge equally and unbiased! Let's make this a competition to remember fondly, even despite the results.
The Jokes Topic
@ivoryjones: Cool story bro
@Trihan: I don't... where is the... oh, never mind!
Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, “You’re next.” They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.
Ketsumio's Krafts and Krap O__o
That is amazing. You are a real sculptor.
All Skills I Create Always Miss; Any Idea Why?
Yeah, in fact you're pretty competent for a newbie (couple of days and already making your own custom skills. Now that's pro ;))
RMN sucks 5
Good prototype. Wait, what? 300+ maps, are you crazy?
But anyway, this is a hugely ambitious project, and it feels really good.
PROS
  • Intuitive controls
  • Adventurous atmosphere
  • Events are smooth
  • Good humour
  • Very ambitious
  • The platforming stage is gorgeous
CONS
  • Enemies need knockback, or at least flash red to show that you have hit them
  • Sometimes you don't know what key opened what
  • Puzzles can be confusing, and not in a good way
  • After about 15 minutes, I got confused about where to go, and quit
Very nice game, and not just a port either, but a full-fledged game of its own. It's very "Metroid-vania", but that can also be confusing to the uninitiated or those who are not fans of the genre. Not that you should try to please the mass audience, but still. That's what turned me off Aquaria :/
