The Screenshot Topic Returns

@Bandito

I see the effect you're trying to go for with your mountain 'ledge', but the problem is, just doing diagonal tiles like that, won't show depth. I created this shot real quick as a suggestion on how you might modify yours a little bit to give it more of a natural look.

Now, its not a great screenshot by any means, but do you see the way I used ramps and shadows to give the illusion of increasing height? This not only takes away from some of the blockiness of the auto-tiles but also helps clearly define where the changes in elevation are.

Just my two cents though.

How Difficult to Remake Final Fantasy 6?

There is also an 8-bit ff7 out there, its hard to find as its locked on a forum and you need like 15 posts to be able to download it, but it was actually pretty well done.

Whats wrong with it that it gets a lol?

Yeah, the shadow tool is a blessing, especially for someone who does all their mapping in the editor, ha.

All I really did was make a bunch of layers with different size circles cut out and blended the layers, it was super easy.

Haha, I just wish I had more talent so I'd have more to share!

Thanks! Though I'm not completely sure what you mean by copying and pasting the cliff edges. Which ones in particular?

edit: NVM, I think I know what you're talking about. The parts where the edges meet up with the cliff wall right?

Yeah, the other image overlays I found seemed a little sharp, so I made my own, it's here: http://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/17733/locker/torchlight.png

Eh, progress has been slow. I've mostly been working on little graphical things and updating scripts to work with ace. Plus I have a lot of 'real life' stuff going on so I haven't been able to do too much on it.
