Pokémon S.T.A.R. Heroes & Adventures

Yeah, it's a browser based game. I might make every major version update downloadable though.

EDIT: Oh, I misread your comment about repetition, sorry!

Super Mario RPG: The Seven Sages

I'll admit that the beginning probably should've been redone after it changed developer but I assure you that it's worth getting past the initial 20 mins to enjoy the rest of the game.

Kiddy is my least favorite too, but I want the end users to have to do as little work as possible which may mean adding a bunch of features they might not ever use.

Enemies as characters might be something akin to Animal Buddy transformations. It was pretty cool to play as Krusha in DK64, so I want at least 1 playable kremling if not more.

I hope Dixie is playable. I love helicoptering through every stage.

In terms of playable characters, at the least I want to implement all 4 of the "main" playable kongs and maybe some enemies as characters.

A quick curiosity though: is the engine limited to just level production or can we construct world maps as well? If we can construct a world map, is it in the style of Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, or 3?

There will be a world-map function as well although it will be optional.

cool but too bad construct 2 sounds hard to use. I wish I had got some coding knowledge at school but my school doesnt have a programing class...Oh wait. This engine doesnt require us to know much programming doesnt it? Like that mario bros maker?

Construct 2 is around the same difficulty as RPG Maker... probably easier. You just need to learn the basics, I guess.

Yeah, I am. :)

I figured. My lappy has the same problem so I use a USB keyboard. I think by default they can press more keys simultaneously.

Cool, I'd use this.

You say I would need Construct 2 already - is that free?

Yup, Construct 2 is free. The differences between the free and licensed version of the program should not have any effect on people using the DKCX to make their games, but I'm currently confirming this with the Construct 2 makers.

After testing it, it is really cool! I found it hard to run and jump at the same time, but that's just cause I didn't feel like configuring Joy2Key for a short demo. Keep up the good work!

I've been using Xpadder myself, ha.
BTW, are you using a laptop by any chance?

Donkey Kong Country Web Engine

^Same here, ha. The Kongs need some love in the fan game arena and hopefully this will help.

In the meantime, I advise anyone interested to start getting used to Scirra's Construct 2 program. I'll do my best so that only a minimal knowledge of the program is needed to successfully incorporate levels, but it would certainly help to know a little more.

@Isreri
I hope to implement that feature, yes.

@Hexatona
That's what I'm actually concerned about. I was really gung ho when I started this on Monday, but now I'm realizing the DKC isn't really as popular as Mario or Zelda. Not that it's not fun to work on, but I wonder how many people would want to use this...
