Description

The dead armies of games forgotten lurk in the dark, waiting for unsuspecting developers to lose their way on the path to their current games and stop in their tracks to think of days gone by.

It's time to dig them up from their early graves and release them on the world come this Hallowe'en.

Yup, it's that time of year again! Combining Release Something and the annual Halloween event, we task you with taking an old, abandonned game, shining it up and letting it run free in the fields of 2019.

Rules
- Start on October 1st
- Finish by October 30th
- Game MUST be abandoned. In this case, not worked on for at least a few months or put aside whilst you worked on something else. It can be game ideas that you threw away and didn't get far into creation, too.
- There needs to be a decent chunk of work done on it over the course of the month.
- Any engine, any resources, etc
- Must have a game page made and accepted to the site BEFORE the end date.

To Submit:
- You need a gamepage that has been accepted to the site (either newly made or an older one from the initial creation of the game)
- Sign up to this page as a participant.
- Click the Submit button at the top-right of the page.
- Upload the game to your gamepage.
- Choose the proper download for the game from the drop-down list and hit Submit.

Badges
- A badge for those who release a full game - 60 MS
- A badge for those who release a demo - 30 MS
- A badge for those who take part in at least one of the prompts that will put up over the course of the month to showcase progress made - 10 MS

Oh boy, I'm so conflicted about joining this one... On one hand, I have a little project that I would love to give a shot at it again, now that I have a lot more experience under my belt... but on the other hand, I really want to finish my current project soon, at least a demo or little beta, because I took it as a personal challenge to finish it before mid-November.

Hmm... Fuck it, let's do this, for the Makerscore! A little change of pace could be great to get back the inspiration.
Gaspu, a secret weapon!
Tbh I'm kinda addicted to notifications so I'm not gonna turn mine off unless it gets unbearable.

Meanwhile, I've managed to put together a minigame with visually interesting graphics! Hopefully tomorrow night when I get back on my desktop I'll be able to continue my progress. For tonight tho, I've got a lot of other things to handle.

(Also, I could really use some play testers soon. It may be a week or two until chapter 8 has more content, but the other previous chapters could definitely use some looking at.)

I'm thinkin' I'll finally try to bring my Survival Horror project to life, tis being the season for horror and all. It'll likely end up being just a demo, but I think I can make some decent progress ^^

Nope, unless you leave the event (sign off).
my project isn't just old and dead, it's at the point where I think anyone that even remembered it ever existed has died of old age but...still stoked for this event.

(I'm not great at using RMN, is there away to turn off notifications for this thread?)
Just clarified the rules a bit more/made them clearer.

Only big change was to outline the importance of having a game page accepted to the site before the end, getting rid of a duplicate line and getting rid of a line that caused some confusion.

I got a notice saying the event was updated, but I don't notice what changed... Anything important?
The Start and End Date are literally on the side of the event...

Like all events you can finish whenever the heck you want before the end... but once it ends that's it no more submissions. You have to have a game page by the end of it too which means you should have enough content to make a game page about five days before the end of the event.

Okay I have a few questions. First of all, when are you allowed to release the game page and download? Do you have to release the gamepage and/or the download on October 30th or 31st? Do we have to be done with making the game by October 30th or do we have until the 31st? Does the game page need to be out by the end of October for it to count?

Secondly, I found a couple spelling errors such as misspelling Halloween as Hallowe'en and adding the same rule twice on the rules page. (It can be game ideas that you threw away and didn't get far into creation, too.) It would also help to make the rules a bit more clear. Thanks!
I'm gonna try to revive my old buddy Somnia for the fourth time, hopefully this time it'll work.
I mean, the whole dealio is resurrecting dead old projects so...
