Plot Overview

In the world of Linguardia, the nations of Rikalia and Dorent are the reigning powers. Although both leaders have been at peace for centuries, a dark cloud is on the horizon. King Richard, leader of the Rikalian Empire, has recently lost his wife and daughter to a pack of demons. Now, his mind twisted from grief, Richard is on a quest for domination. His plan: to harness the power of the six legendary crystals, which, according to scriptures, will bestow the wielder with unimaginable powers if brought together. With Richard on a path of destruction to collect the crystals, war seems inevitable.

Players take control of Epoch Lander, Captain of Richard's Dragon Knights, an elite force within the Rikalian Empire. However, when Epoch begins questioning the morals behind Richard's actions, he is arrested for treason and sentenced to death. With his head full of unanswered questions, Epoch must decide whether to accept his fate or fight for what he believes to be the greater good: even if it means fighting alone.

Soundtrack Complete!

Jose has just finished the last two songs of the soundtrack, bringing the OST to a grand total of 36 songs. With those final two, the Forever's End soundtrack is now complete! I really have to thank Jose for all the hard work he put into these songs. They all sound fantastic, and I can't wait to release the next episode with them implemented. Great job, bro!

Do know though, there are a few songs that will be included with the game that aren't custom. Not many, but a few, mainly because some of my cutscenes were already built around these songs. However, all of the ones included on this gamepage are the custom ones composed by Jose.

With the soundtrack complete, I thought I'd list out a few of my personal favorites. If you have any favorites, please comment and show Jose some love.

Traveling - Overworld Theme

The Reprieve

Dangerous Wilderness

The Death Knight - Marcellus' Theme

Spiritualization

Journeying Forward

Cutting a Path

In the Heat of Battle - Boss Theme 2

A Dying Planet's Last Breath

I've played 8+ hours so far and i'm impressed. Good work
about how long do you think it will take till you complete this game im really enjoying it i have yet to play your latest updates but i am really lookin forward to it
Thanks man. Honestly, I'm not sure. This is probably about half of the game right here, but it shouldn't take three years (like it did to make this) because now I have every character's skill system set up as well as other coded systems. Also, Ultima187 was kind enough to make some lovely maps for next time, so that will really help speed up progress.

I'll probably release Episode 2 later this year or early next year.

Honestly, now that you have everything laid out, you can probably pump out an hour of gameplay for every 10 hours of work.
Ahm, just registered to report the game (version 1.04) still has that music+sound bug (for me) and already crashed twice during my replay of it (I'm in the royal hunting grounds).

I played the original demo, and got to the end. kind of sad to replay it while having the original save file. Didn't notice any major change yet (except the comic parts), but it gives me the chance to remember things I forgot :\

Maybe some of Cherry's patches are screwing things up...although I've seen other games that use them and don't have these problems. Trust me, I'm trying to figure out what it is.

Yeah, I'm sorry old saves didn't transfer over. There was just too much for me to convert over to the new version. Good news is that this is the last time this will happen; since the groundwork is finally laid out, it shouldn't be a problem anymore using old saves for future releases.

That's ok, I enjoy the replaying ^_^
I actually think the sound+music+crash bugs are all closely related, maybe even the same bug in different forms. The game just crashed the second time in the same place after I kill the level 1 rare monster in the royal hunting grounds. It seems that hitting the "x\enter\space button" too fast during the boss battle causes the game to lag a little bit during the fight, than the sound+music screws up permanently, and than (if you don't save and restart quickly) the game crashes shortly after.
When I fought the same monster on my third skirmish through the hunting grounds (I didn't save the last two ^_^), I tried to slow down my own pace a bit and it worked. No problems whatsoever.

On another note, I wonder if I should make a small guide of the game since I have the time and bored enough...

Edit: Again, after finishing the boss fight with Hyuga, during lee's cutscene. Error is something like: "game could not be completed because of low memory resources"... :\
Damn, I'm sorry. I feel like no matter how hard I try to fix these problems, they just keep coming back. I have no idea about that low memory error...maybe you have too many other applications open at the same time?

Anyway, I'm trying my best to figure them out.

I've had that weird error with a few games, what i do is go in the registry activate "empty virtual memory at restart(value : 1])), and then restart (save before), also change save file often. You'll have to find out where that is in the registry, i don't remember, but it should be easy to find on the internet.
Say, "999" is the best you can get regarding regular (attack, defence, etc) stats?
If so, for example, a Talon is a better weapon for epoch than the mor powerful Alastor for instance, cause his attack is maxed out and the Talon has better agility O0

Damn...people have been telling me that v.1.04 has a strange bug that maxes out Epoch's stats at some point. I don't understand why; it only started doing this after I added Cherry's new patches. Can you tell me at what point Epoch's stats changed to this?

for me that bug kicked in right after you leave the check point
Superb blend of classic FF and shadow hearts as well as some chrono trigger in the mix, got me hooked so far. :)

Epoch-attack+defence-right after I finished the royal hunting grounds
Lee-defence+magic-right from the get go
Goldo-attack+defence-same as lee

Both Slade and Elise seem fine... lis too...

Edit: Oh, and the party is around evel 15 with (probebly) all the best armor\skills avilable.
same thing happened to me for epoch as well, noticed it right after you choose the scenario with wadsworth for the 1st time , though not like it's a bad thing having maxed attack and defense so early, however it kinda leaves out some of the fun actually getting there. xD

I think I've figured out the problem, although it baffles me that it's happening after applying Cherry's patches, even though it never happened before. I'll see if I can't fix it.
Heh, well take yer time man, honestly aside from that bug this game is really good. ^^

That, and the crash bug. I just got pawned by it after almost killing that awfully powerful kenshin spirit in the desert (lol on the name ^_^).

On the same note, the crash bug defenitly has some connection to the sound+music bug. It seems to be triggered by having too much sound effects at the same time. I have the feeling that if you will realase a version of the game were you can turn off most\all of the sound effects, than the problem will be solved for most players :\

Just my gut feeling, worth a try untill you will find the proper solution to this particular bug.

Edit: Nope, I was just dellusioning myself XD
The best I could do was taking about 15,000 of his HP after throwing about everithing I had (including all rare monsters).
I mean, this guy has no weaknesses, his weakest attack can do about 600 damage, and he actually gets stronger as the fight goes on. A bit of a mismatch for my level 15 party ^_^
Great miniboss, with no doubt I'll come back to this desert after I get a bit stronger (and have epoch to my aid).

Edit2: Gave up on mister incredible.

Edit3: Oh, funny game ending bug at the underground town. If you aproach the gaurd at the entrance to the gaurdian's house from the side, elise will think she is a ghost, try to go through the wall, and get stuck (glad I saved at the inn) ^_^
Well..every game has its bugs and errors, though at least they get fixed most of the time, lol this isn't a glitch or anything but right as I was about to go and fight the demon in Lyonell manor my computer froze and even though I saved it I had to redo the whole rubicon making thing..because it doesn't actually save for me unless I exit out of the game first. But that was the only time it happened and didn't occur again, anyways aside from the music crashes and bugs I've gotten pretty far in, also getting run over by kenshin's awesomeness ^^ and this game still deserves some recognition in my opinion.
