RPG Maker VX Ace - Nugget Crash Course

author=kentona
Just to be sporting, I gave the rest of you a day's headstart, and am only downloading the trial right now.

I hope you used your time wisely.

I thought you weren't going to finish anyway? (which seems to be a plan for a lot of the entries...)

NicoB's Let's Tries/Plays! *REQUEST YOUR GAME HERE!*

These are bloody amazing, thanks for playing it!

I won't spoil or give any tips, since it's most interesting to see what people notice or don't notice - it's already given us about a half-dozen things to improve (in addition to ones I already fixed.)

EDIT: I will note that the monsters are all original and Krisanna's design. They're themed (the first are instrument, the second area is the 7 sins, and later ones are a bit more obvious.)

Attack names give clues as to what they represent as well as my attempt at being funny with puns. : )

Actually, I've never really gotten any feedback on my very first game ever: Outlaw City

I'd be interested to see that!

RPG Maker VX Ace - Nugget Crash Course

That might be because of an incomplete/corrupted download, maybe try downloading it again or from another computer (if you happen to have a second one.)

I know pre-orders went through, but can you even get the trial version or buy it regularly yet?

EDIT: I see the link you added now (missed it before) - surprised you can get the free trial before they put it up on their site.

Multiple Games?

You can have multiple active projects, but it's best if you can complete one project at a time, or at the least achieve important milestones before switching gears. Switching projects when the going gets tough or boring on the first means you really, REALLY won't want to go back to it later, and it just gets harder to return and pick it up again over time (like leaving a game half finished and trying to come back years later and pick it up again.)

Deadlines are crucial, especially ones set by others, like for a contest or something. : D

Aetherion

I wish I could give a good % completion right now - I don't plan to add any additional major features, but implementing all the points for talents has proven lengthy. : )

1. Saves from the pilot game will not be transferable - too many story changes and new systems that I can't just adapt in (but there will be enough new stuff to make it interesting, I promise!)

3. I agree, maybe I'll see if I can make the pause feature an option you can enable/disable and provide extra rewards for those in the active system.

4. Wow, didn't realize you could be trapped, I thought we found all 'corners' you could lock yourself in (Solitayre actually locked himself in one during testing I believe!)

5. There's no max, but by the time you get to the boss you should have all the skills.

6. The harder and easier difficulties didn't get their main addition - skills. Instead of just buffing stats by large amounts enemies are supposed to get additional skills unlocked, but I didn't get time to implement those. (I could have if I'd just REMEMBERED to do it before we launched it.)

Outlaw City

Do you have a screenshot? I'm not sure which you mean, sorry.

If there are treasure chests or anything visible it should definitely be accessible though.

Aetherion

There's not an updated version yet I'm afraid!

We're hard at work on revising and adding the next chapter to the story before we put up a new download, sorry!

Aetherion

It's in the game folder if you want the music (it's un-encrypted.)

However, you won't find it elsewhere, it was made using MusicShake by our 5 year old son.
