I'm pretty sure there's nothing creepy about this!

Game Chill 2013

Done and uploading!

Can you play 2K3 games with no RTP? I was never able to before.

Game Chill 2013

Rhyming is hard.

Game Chill 2013

Dammit Craze, I just convinced myself being sick was enough of an excuse to not release something half-assed and sleep instead. : (

Game Chill 2013

Not many days left and so much left to do!

Game Chill 2013

Maybe it's just the logo image for this, but I think I'm getting a lot of vibes that it's going to end up being more a more frightening and gruesome contest than the Halloween one...

Rainfall: The Sojourn Kickstarter ad !

What a pity. :<

I'd given some advice about managing this - looks like Ghost got too wrapped up and didn't have a plan fleshed out or the recourse for members leaving (if losing two members means their work can't be replaced you're at their mercy and they don't have ANY responsibility - that's scary!)

Lack of updates and communication means the second half of my post also likely came true - stress and fear and panic. Hope Ghost gets back to responding and talking about what happened and what they can do, since leaving the backers without communication and honest answers on where the money and project are is only going to make things worse over time.

Solitayre having no better answer ready on the spur of the moment, said, "Bah!" again; and followed it up with "Humbug."
I have to admit I'm at least slightly tempted to make "How the Vandeli stole Christmas."

Do it! We'll make a game too. : )

What Type of Developer Are You?

Probably the only thing I could claim as a strength is my ability to manage timelines and have realistic goals and achieve them.

Death Wish Review

This is stuff the tutorial will cover once I finish it and post a new version, but there's basically 3 phases as Kayla:

1. Planning the path you want to lead enemies along
- with the end point being where you build a crystal
- you want the start point to be as far away as you can lead the enemy during this time
- you can be building towers along the planned path while doing this

2. Building the crystal and leading enemies away along the path from #1
- building towers during this time is also possible
- since they don't attack the tower until it's activating, you have 30 seconds to lead them away while the tower is "starting"
- you'll find towers more effective if you use them to delay and not kill (since killing lets the DeathWish summon more monsters and it'll try to do that close to the crystal instead)

3. Helping crystal survive during the activation phase
- There's not too much you can do during this period except build more towers if you have mana left
- One monster at a time is slowed by towers hitting it, all monsters year the skull towers are slowed by 30%, and if you can slow bigger monsters in front of smaller ones you can create a 'pile-up' that causes even more delays
- Use towers in straight lines or at angles the monsters will move at, since shooting towers aren't guaranteed to hit, so if monsters move 'around' the shot angle, it won't always hit them, wasting the tower's attacks

Hopefully that helps a bit, if you can play as the DeathWish in multiplayer you'll get a much better understanding once you see how the other side is also limited. : )

One more tip - try to learn the monsters and their strengths/weaknesses.

If a monster can't see you for a certain amount of time (different for each one) their movement speed changes (basically if they see you and are running after, or if they're hunting you.)

The eyeworms, for example, are much faster when they can't see you and get a lot slower once they can. Same with the spider. So learning to strafe their attacks and time building even when they're around can be crucial. The floating skull birds on the other hand lose sight quickly and get slower when they can't see you, so losing them be very important. The floating ghost ones are easy to dodge since their attack takes a long time to charge up, but their speed is almost the same whether they can see you or not. If you can lead enemies around a bit so the fast ones are 'behind' the slower ones you can pile them up a bit to slow them down for a few seconds as well, giving you more time to escape or set up towers or keep them FROM your tower.

It can be worth having them closer to your crystal but arranged so they slower spider is delayed in front of the other monsters so they have trouble getting around (or in a doorway so they CAN'T get around until he's through!)

Hope that helps a bit.
