BACKWARDS_COWBOY'S PROFILE
Gaming and game design are my hobbies. I've spent the most time with VX Ace and 2k3 (prior to Steam release), but the only thing I've ever finished anything with is 2k.
Psychology was my first degree, but being responsible for depressed kids was too stressful. So I got a Masters in Healthcare Management and now I'm responsible for depressed adults!

[Business] Need advice on good and fair rewards.
I'd be careful with the "Design an Ability" and "Design a Mini-Boss" rewards, unless you're limiting them to less than 5 or so backers. There's a lot of people out there who would pay $10 to get their name in the credits, but there's also a lot of people who would throw in an additional $140 to get a character design credit and ride that wave in to all their future endeavors. The only one that I'm really confused about though is the "Instruction Manual (PDF)" reward. The soundtrack half makes sense, but wouldn't the game come with a PDF/Word manual anyway?
Those are the only two concerns I'd have with rewards. But like Infinite said, be careful with any customized rewards if you plan on offering them at a relatively low value, but mass-produced t-shirts would be a great reward.

I still have yet another copy of VX Ace from a Humble Bundle, despite having already given away other copies of it and other software. Add me to the list for one VX Ace.
GG Maker: The next bastard-child of family eb!
It still looks better than half of the design software in the Humble Bundle. Most of the stuff in there besides RPG Maker is for making Steam spam.
Satoru Iwata (CEO Nintendo) passes away
I read in one CNN article that Miyamoto and another top Nintendo official are temporarily taking over the company until a successor for Iwata can be found. All this just a short time after Miyamoto sealed the deal on a Nintendo theme park in Florida.
[Misc] Cool household weapons
You could always remove the safety cage around a free-standing floor fan and just start swinging it around. It'd need a portable battery pack or an extension cord, but if it's metal people will die.

RPG Maker 2000 Value! Is now out in English!
This is amazing. The Humble Bundle for this even includes the Luna Engine. ]Also, if anybody needs Game Character Hub or a copy of VX Ace, I have one extra code for Hub and an extra code for Ace. I... buy a lot of bundles.Currently awaiting response from first responder. Will then move on to second responder if no reply in 24 hours.

9/10, but still terrible? About game-killing features
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.
There were several red flags that should have stopped me from even buying the game:
The back of the box said nothing other than a brief continuation of FFXII's story line, and a few screenshots. Having played other Final Fantasy and Square Enix games, I figured I'd get it.
The game itself is a Real-Time Strategy game, obviously meant to be inspired by or based on FFXII's real-time field battle system. Ordinarily, I would have been able to accept a new concept on an old series. The problem that drove me away? You didn't actually play as anybody. You just summoned monsters, and commanded them around the map. Main characters were present and controllable, but they served mainly as rally points and occasionally unleashed special abilities. There was no magic, no items, no character development. I gave up after about 12 hours near what I believe was the end of the game.
Terrible, terrible game. To this day, I still won't play any sequel that jumps between systems of different companies.
There were several red flags that should have stopped me from even buying the game:
- It was a Nintendo DS sequel to a PS2 game. Not only did they switch systems, but they switched companies.
- It was $39.99, much more than anybody should ever have paid for a DS game.
- It used SNES-era graphics that were present in a bonus sub-menu of FFXII.

FF7 remake. It's a thing.

Whatever they do with the combat just please keep the Kingdom Hearts influence far the fuck away from it. Those games are awful.
Prepare yourself for Donald Duck and Goofy cameos, and a mini-game that spans over 40 hours of you trying to find all the Hidden Mickeys to unlock a secret bonus dungeon that will grant you the bonus Keyblade weapon for Cloud.
