2021 Misaos - Thoughts, Ideas, Plans
author=Liberty
I was thinking about making an article that sums up the events and gets edited for each one, with a small blurb about each event game for each event.
That does sound like a good idea.

Maybe an article? BEST OF 2020! or something like that? Add a playlist of them, too?
Yeah, that would be a good idea.

author=Kokoro-Haneauthor=LibertyThank you both for your answer ^^
Yep, that's fine. As long as you follow the rules of both jams it should be peachy! As Beregon said, people have done this a number of times~

I'm pretty sure it's fine so long as the game follows the rules of both game jams. People do it all the time and did so during both the Halloween event and the Trials of MZ event.
I just realized at Itch, unless someone happens to have the same username, that this RTP jam I am speaking of happens to be yours haha!
Probably, feel free to participate :)

I have one more quick question:
I found a jam going on where the rule is to use 100% RTP, which I think would be fun (I want to use RM 2k3 finally). Would it be OK to make my project for both events? (This seasons one, under the seasons theme of course, and the RTP jam?).

I was planning on doing a special call-out to event-games that were mentioned in-thread that had not garndered enough nominations with the voting results. However, for the sake of the conversation at hand, my notes indicate the following games.
7 Minutes (Kill the Cutie)
Age of Myth (50 Days of Representation)
Amarok's Howl (Kill the Cutie)
Cuties & Clues (Kill the Cutie)
Feed Your Pet (Kill the Cutie)
Fragment (Trials of RPG Maker MZ)
Glories of the Hunt (50 Days of Representation)
KO Cupid (50 Days of Representation)
Luke Diamont: Absolute Mayham (Trials of RPG Maker MZ)
Heaven's Gate (Theme Roulette 3)
Heaven's Gate MZ (Trials of RPG Maker MZ)
Saga Crew and the Spire of Mana (50 Days of Representation)
*Edit: I did have Feed Your Pet in my notes of games. However, it was not listed with the event-games! Fixed!
*Edit2: Breakdown by event.
Kill the Cutie - 4 games
50 Days of Representation - 4 games
Trials of RPG Maker MZ - 3 games
Theme Roulette 3 - 1 game
Some sort of special official call-out/list of best event games from the last year would be a good idea. There were a lot of good ones in 2020 that seem to have been overlooked by people. It would be a shame if that's how it ended.

I don't know, maybe there could be like a highlight reel of best event games from the last year. Like, best 5/10 or something (not ranked, just a list and maybe a few sentences how it made it on the list)?
The Game with No Name also wasn't the only event game mentioned as a candidate for Misao early on in this thread. There were also Luke Daimont: Absolute Mayhem, Fragment and 7 Minutes mentioned in the first 2 posts by Marrend and RPGMakerAddict. Then there were Feed your Pet and Cuties and Clues both within the first two pages of this thread. And I'm pretty sure there were more mentioned past that. I think I remember someone mentioning Age of Myth. So, I don't think it's the case of there being only one event game mentioned as a possible candidate for that Misao, it's just a low participation in general coupled with random chance.
Or everyone who voted for this category voted for a different game, since you apparently need 2 votes for the nomination to count, but I'm pretty sure that the first option is much more likely.

Chronicles: Fate of a Princess Review
Nice review! I agree with you and if you review it solely as a game, this is the perfect score for it. And also:
I still can't tell what the point of Ameline's character was. Well, I guess now you understand why I said Ameline was my most hated character in the game, along with the Ranger :P

Pure Heart won 1st Place in the Beginners Circle Jam!!!
author=Alduauthor=BeregonYup, and it was the same case with Game Maker. Undertale and Hotline Miami helped popularize it.
Well, Unity used to have a terrible reputation too (and still does to some degree), yet that eventually passed and now it's actually a very well respected game engine. It will improve for RPG Maker too, I already saw some impressive games being developed in MV/MZ, like that one RPG with true 3D rendering and modern graphics.
Yeah, I already saw it on RMW, recognized Yuki there too :D Looks really good, I don't think I'd have the patience to do all of that in 2003, definitely looks like you put a lot of work into it! The battle system seems like an advanced version of the one from Pure Heart.
In MZ, I used _realX and _realY for my action RPG, which has the added benefite of being tied to the map as opposed to the screen and works very well for what it is, though really a proper plugin works wonders here. What engine do you think of moving to btw.?
Haha, I used Yuki as a placeholder character. I don't know if I'll actually have her cameo in the game. I'm looking at either RPG Maker MZ or Game Maker Studio 2. I'm familiar with Javascript and C so it'll be easier to transition to these engines. Though I'm leaning towards GMS2 because I already own it.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. You're a really talented dev Aldu. I'm looking forward to what you have next.
Congrats!❤
Thank you LBR! I truly appreciate it! :)
Oh, and here I thought it was going to take place in the same universe :D Maybe a reference, if that fits into the story :D
Tbh, if you liked RPG Maker 2003, MZ is an incredibly huge upgrade and I can certainly recommend picking it up sometime, especially during a sale. It really is great!
As for GMS2, I thought about maybe trying it someday, but I've heard it's not that different to Godot and that's what I've been practicing with and might stick to, especially since it also has 3D. Still, heard good things about GMS2 also.
