Hey, Furipu, thanks for playing--it's always nice to hear that someone enjoyed this! You are, indeed, pretty close to the end. To answer your questions:
-There are 53 recruitable villagers. There isn't a reward or indication for getting everyone, but it sounds like you have at least most of the important ones. You didn't mention several of the store upgrades, though, but that's partially because several new measures open up in the town hall after you reach the final level. Also, pair Miranda and Jarvis in the theater to unlock a perfume shop upgrade. I'm not sure who you're missing--maybe BeBop, who you'll find in a village that you might not have been to in the story yet. Other than that, all of the skill instructors are now recruitable. I'd need to know who you have to know who you don't have.

Glad you're liking it! In Silver Spring, go to the eastern area (the one with the giant gold building). There's an L-shaped building that's an accessory shop that sells every type of status immune ring.

The easiest way is to buy a few ruby rings from Silver Spring so that you're immune to her paralysis attacks. King Fish also does a lot of damage to her.

Woah, I missed a lot of these edits! Thanks for picking up those typos and bugs; I'll make sure to address them in the next update. Also, I'm glad you've been impressed so far; ps1 and ps2 had a lot of classics, so I'm honored that you mentioned my little game in the same breath.

The optional content has a staggered difficulty, so feel free to complete it in any order or continue on with the main story. The blood orcs and Old Balfur are both pretty tough, so I'd save those for later.

Status abuse was always viable with those bosses, but since every other boss in the game is status immune and I couldn't count on players trying that, I thought I would shift the odds a bit more in the player's favor. Anyway, glad that place is smoothed out now!

I fixed that minecart bug and nerfed the concealed dagger damage in the Terasu prison. I also nerfed some of the bosses' skills in that dungeon. I don't know if this warrants an official blog post or anything, but I thought I'd mention it here.
