A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

@kenlan: I missed your edit! I'm guessing that you're talking about those maps that Richmond sells. They give directions for things in the snowfield north of Lilledragen. Was there something specifically that isn't clear about them?

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Oh, crap. I just spotted the glitch you're talking about. If you want to fix that quickly, just climb up or down a rope or ladder. Also:

In order to beat the trial, you have to make sure that Raccoon is still alive. Have you been doing that?

I've uploaded the newest version of the game. Basically, it fixes this glitch, the swamp glitch Furipu found, and a whole bunch of typos mainly found by Xenos.

A "Boss Reunion" near the Endgame?

Is it conceited to say that I think I did this well in The Heart Pumps Clay?

As far as I'm concerned, I think bringing bosses back is good, at least from a story perspective; it means that they're actual characters that matter. Well, it means that if you make them mean that. If they're just monsters that could have been cut out from the plot in the first place and you're adding them at the end, it can feel like padding.

Gameplay wise, I agree with the consensus: don't just buff their stats. Throw a wrench in the works so that each fight feels nuanced. Or, like LockeZ mentioned, you can bring back old foes to make the player see how much stronger they've become; that's how the aforementioned Mega Man second fights function. I guess the important thing is that the bosses are either in line with the story or the game's design, but that's a catchall response.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

@Xenos: Yeah, "ancient man" is right in that context. Oliver doesn't have a scene in that area, but there's a logical reason for it. Moira's dialogue there was an oversight--I'll fix it! Yumina sounds kind of interesting; I might have to check it out.

@Furipu: Thanks for catching that! I was able to find the gap in the events pretty quickly, so I'll make sure to patch that in the next update.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Thanks for the list! I'm not sure where number 7 is, though; based on the phrasing, it might be right. In number 10, "question" is being used correctly--it's being used similarly to "Don't question my resolve." I have fixed number 9, but I haven't uploaded the most current version; I was waiting for some more substantial changes first.

There's a save point in Corona Lucis, but it's in the temple area that you might not have access to. If you're wanting to have one for Nox's trial, there's a save point in that area.

The ready/debate joke was more of an in-game joke in that it was parallel to the coliseum (the joke being that the city council is like an arena). I'm not familiar with Yumina and I haven't played Phoenix Wright, but I can see how Phoenix Wright probably has something similar because of all those "Objection!" pictures I see.

I'm not sure what you're asking about Oliver.

Brunhilde teaches a holy-elemental physical attack and later a self buff, both of which are pretty good. You get a lot of good things from that mini-game, so it's worth doing, but it isn't required for beating the game. There is a bonus dungeon that's unlocked from it, though. Regardless of how quickly you kill stuff in the Nightmare Dimension levels, you've got to be able to dodge the majority of the fights. Parallels is one of the harder ones to fudge.

Edit: I can't find #3 either.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Yeah, he's the hardest boss in the game. I wouldn't attempt him until you've got really solid gear--especially the reward for obtaining all of the Rare Crystals. Anything that protects against instant death/status effects is also welcome. And, yeah, that's his final boost, so you were pretty close to beating him, but that's when he's toughest.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

@Furipu: There's actually a trick to that boss fight that would have helped:
Instead of killing the summoned mobs, you can cast eerie whistle and chances are you'll inflict a debilitating status effect.

Sorry I didn't catch your post sooner!

@Xenos: I pronounce it "Loo-ka." The illness in Mossvine will get addressed later in the game. "Judgment" is spelled that way in American English--it varies in UK English. I'll hunt down that other typo, though!

@Shadragon:

Well, no cutting, but she definitely takes it hard--you'll see that explored over the course of the game. And, yeah, it's been thirty years.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Fucking double spoilers. Well, I edited that out, haha.

The silhouettes do give 1000 xp a piece, but they're limited.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

@Xenos:
Yep, it's still after the time skip. And, yeah, the crystals can be used to travel through space; the window bit was just referring to time travel.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Hey, Shadragon, remember to use the "hide" tag for major plot events. If you edit that post, let me know and I'll unhide your post. Also:
Yeah, I guess she did get a little emo--can you blame her though? She's probably not going to listen to My Chemical Romance, though.

@Xenos: Damn. Thanks for finding that transfer bug. The behemoth graphic you're talking about is one of the default VX battlers. I used default battlers for the most part, but I had to do a little bit of frankenspriting for story reasons (like putting wings on most of the humanoid battlers). Also:
Yeah, the love letter is one. The other thing is whether or not you befriended Luca in the hospital. You have to visit her as Ivy, come back with Mint, and then give her a daisy; she'll have a more positive outlook on life. This lets you access the treasures in her house earlier in the game. The missable items are Cupid's Bow, Amos's Book, Jr. Bandit's Badge, and, as Furipu mentioned, Mint's Cloak, which can be crafted into a pretty solid accessory (but it's not top tier, so if you missed it, don't worry).

The journal was talking about using the crystals to move through time, not space.
