Well, you're going to have them for another year at least!

Ahahaha...ha...hoo boy.

How much can does a Name affect a game?

Also Space Funeral is one of the best game titles on this site.

the wise man bowed his head solemnly and spoke: "theres actually zero difference between good & bad things. you imbecile. you fucking moron"

His face then dissolved into a cascade of pink slush by the acidic vomit of Ultra Hitler.

Old Advertisements

I needed to find some audio clips for a song I'm working on, and I found a site that some people might find useful--or at least interesting. It's a database of old advertisements, mainly from the 50s and 60s (there's a decent chunk of 70s ads, too). The cool thing is that a lot of these are common domain now, so you can dissect them however you want and work them into your own art/videos/games/music/etc. Here's the site:

I haven't looked at anything other than the advertisements, but it's just part of the internet archive, which I'm sure has all sorts of stuff. About the advertisements, though, it's kind of an interesting peephole into the weirdness and stupidity of the past. Some of my favorite ads are old cigarette ads, like this campaign from Virigina Slims where they tried to co-opt the women's rights movement in order to sell cancer sticks. Or, there was this one, where Dial has a bizarre prize for a contest.

Hope you guys find this interesting and/or useful!

Music

New Track: March of the Korgis.

I like to think of narratives when I compose sometimes. The song starts with regal-looking korgis marching down the streets, shooting imperialistic gazes at the peasants. Then around :32 seconds someone throws a stick and they hop after it.

Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass

I don't mind at all! Let's plays are great ways to spread the word.

What are you thinking about right now?

I don't buy that false optical illusion not even a little bit.
Trump's speech gave honest answers to real problems.

His answers were honest to him in the moment, sure. Unfortunately, they were often objectively untrue. Cutting taxes for the rich isn't going to increase jobs "bigly." Stop and Frisk won't lower crime--which, by the way, is already pretty damn low despite media inflation--but it will be a huge privacy violation and make the poor--especially minorities--feel more like second class citizens and will increase racial tensions instead of magically decrease them as Trump proposed. Renegotiating trade deals would just be another Brexit--a ton of policy work that's already functioning well and will probably result in an unstable market, international ill will, and little gains. Most of his discussion, though, was him saying things that should infuriate you, like he doesn't pay income tax or he would literally bomb an Iranian boat because some of its occupants were taunting Americans.

Say what you want about Hillary's trustworthiness; if half of her policies get through, America would be infinitely better off than being under control of that moronic caricature of a billionaire.

Please welcome Feldschlacht IV to the RMN staff! He's going to do some cool community management stuff

Congrats, Feld; I've liked a lot of your ideas for the site, so it'll be cool to see those come to fruition!

That's a great idea, Merlandese. I considered doing something similar with a fade to black and some images popping up, but I decided against it when weighing the time cost of it. I'm pretty good about not cutting corners in the scenes, so I liked having a few scenes where I could just rely on writing for once, haha. I'll still consider it, though; I do like the idea--especially utilizing a more childlike medium like crayons or chalk.

Fun fact: when I first started Jimmy and it was meant to be a much shorter game, almost everything was drawn with crayons (well, the crayon tool in MS Paint...).

What is the least painful college class you've taken?

I liked college. Also, I particularly looked forward to all of my creative writing classes. I liked most of my music history courses a lot, too, and my 20th century class was probably the most interesting, but "History of Rock and Roll" or "History of Jazz" were the undergrad courses that most people would have loved the most; they were pretty easy and I didn't learn much new from them, though (especially the rock one). My 70s film class in grad school was great, too. I wrote a paper on Halloween, Black Christmas, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I miss college.
