IROG'S PROFILE

Hi all !

I like 16-bits RPGs (especially action RPGs) where you feel the quest behind the lines of code. I also like strategy, puzzle solving, immersive stories, tabletop RPG and LARP.

I'm a hobbyist C programmer who likes to work on custom game mechanics. My very first project was a very basic map generator for Genesia, aka Ultimate Domain https://rpgmaker.net/users/Irog/locker/UltimateDomainWorld.zip

I also want to help developers polishing their projects with my player feedback. So I'll be happy to test your game !

See you around,
Irog

I didn't like how the player respawns around the front door and not in exact room where the balloon met it's grizzly fate
The respaw mechanism was built to fit the story. The following explains why it was built this way and is not intended to make you like a mechanism you dislike.

Spoiler
If you reached the good ending, you know the player is not the balloon. He/she brings a balloon in the house so when it pops, he/she brings a new one by the entrance door. (There was a feature to emphasize it but never developed: leave broken balloons on the ground where it popped). The entrance door also serve another purpose: if the player gives up, he/she can walk out the front door.

Fix moveability issues

On some tiles in the alternate basement, the balloon could move through the floor one tile deep. It is now fixed.

Wizard apprentice Lya

The current download is a gameplay demonstration. It only has one large map to show how the game works. It's sole purpose is to let player test our gameplay and comment on it so we know if the concept is worth expanding.

Some of the more violent parts made me really sad. :(
Especially when you know how much slapping went into it ;-)
SERIOUSLY

Sorry for the bad joke.

More seriously, your voice acting really brings life to in-game interactions.

Thank you StarSkipp for the constructive review. I'm glad you enjoy our little creation. It is meant to leave the player with questions. The finished version should give you more hints about what is really going on in this house.

Okay. for some reason this didn't end up in the submission queue =/

I started to upload the game 15 minutes before the event deadline and this happened:

Yes, the upload finished one minute too late! Liberty gave a 20 minutes time buffer so she considers we made it on time but the submit button for the event had disappeared.

A Halloween Horror

The complete version of our game is now available to download. Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure it's all of it.
Except the game engine.

The rest is pure gem!

Red Balloon of Happiness

I updated the images and the download. You now have access to both endings. A walkthrough will help those in need.

Red Balloon of Happiness

Thanks for playing our game. The demo lacks the endings and an indication that you can type answers to spoken questions.
